Raspberry organic farm

Our organic farm is located in east Slovenia (near Celje) on a beautifull hill. Our family decided 13 years ago to move from town, to the countryside. Since our movement, the farm keeps on growing. We started with cattle breeding.
We have 4ha of pastures, where we graze Highland cattles. On the farm are also laying hens.
On almost 1ha we grow raspberries. The picking season is from beginning of July, till the end of September (it can be also longer-until November)- depending on the weather.
We have also a lot of different work every season (organising, cleaning, mowing lawn, harvesting wood, ...)
The area is green all around, so everyone can enjoy his time in peace, surrounded with animals and nice people.
At the moment we have few highland cattle, chickens, roosters, a cat and a dog.
You can learn everyday something new on our farm.

Please read before applying :) We need 5 hours help per day, one day per week off (we agree about the day few days in advance). In May and June the main work in weeding on the raspberry field and many other different tasks. The main work from July till October -the picking season for raspberries is - we pick them usually from 06.00-10.00 sometimes also in the evening from 18.00-20.00 - depends of the quantity of raspberries and weather. The working time can change. At that time also weeding the plant is needed- we ussualy do that in the evening hours. We also need occasional help by taking care of the animals (food and water supply, animal pasture, health control,..) all our animals are friendly and easy to take care of. The occasional help is also bromming around farm, tidying up (inside/outside), renovation, different repairs, firewood preparation,lawn moving, cooking and other small projects... But the main help needed on our farm is picking the raspberries and weed control. We have a separated facility with bathroom, kitchen, place to hang out and separated places with beds (usually for two volunteers in one place). The space is shared, so we value a positive and open atmosphere. Free Wi-fi available. Laundry is possible (!Saturday or Sunday!). We provide food for all meals. Most meals are prepared together as a group, so volunteers share the cooking and enjoy the meals together. Vegetarians and vegans can prepare their own meals if they prefer. In the area many activities are possible (hiking, lakes, city center, river,..) bike is available on our farm. We offer you pick up/ drop off on your arrival/departure day to nearest bus station.
