Peace House Showa is a very warm and welcoming place. The manager is hardworking, approachable and easy to communicate with. The work itself wasn't too tiring and was easy to get used to, as I was able to enjoy just enough moments to take breaks during the 8 hour shift. Having 4 days off a week was amazing, especially because we could try and swap shifts with the other staff in order to get 4 free days in a row. This is a cozy, small hostel in an interesting historic neighborhood, where it's easy to make friends with both guests and staff.
Thank you for the opportunity, will miss these times!

My experience was very good. Shu, the hostel manager, is a great person and a good leader. The organization is excellent at the beginning of each month, he gives you the schedule with your shifts so you can better plan your trips and time. Working 3 days and resting 4 seems excellent to me. I definitely recommend this volunteering experience.

We did our volunteering at Peace House Abeno. Staying here was great: the permanent staff, Steven and Kenji are helpful and knowledgeable about the place and Osaka too. Really recommended, thanks for having us!

We stayed at Peace House Abeno and it was a great experience! The tasks are super easy and the workload is not crazy. Kenji and Steven were around to help when needed. We would really recommend this experience to anybody!

I stayed with this host in Osaka for a while and had a good experience. The place is simple but comfortable, and it has everything you need. Osaka itself is amazing, with so much to see and do once you're off shift. The work is easy to manage: straightforward tasks that help keep everything running smoothly, without being stressful. It’s not the most unique setup, but it’s a great option if you’re looking for a place to stay while exploring the city and lending a hand. Plus, it’s a nice opportunity to meet people from all over the world and share experiences.
