Hostel Downtown Inn

The working hours are not long; they are quite short, and the job is not demanding. We have a total of 32 beds and a person who thoroughly cleans during the night shift, so we mainly need someone at the reception. It is important to leave clean bathrooms for the next shift and have the beds ready. We are located in the city center, in a great location, and so far, we have had many volunteers, all of whom have left satisfied.

Volunteers are treated with respect and appreciation. I live in the same building, so they can always reach out to me if they need anything. They only need to do their job during those four hours, and for the rest of the time, no one interferes or bothers them. If they need a day off or some special time, they should let me know in advance, and we will arrange everything.

I stayed at Hostel Downtown Inn for a month, and it was truly a wonderful experience. The host, Maja, is amazing—always kind, respectful, and incredibly helpful with everything. Darko, who works the night shift, is also fantastic and always ready to help.

The volunteer tasks are fair and never overwhelming, leaving plenty of time to enjoy the city. I had a great time connecting with other volunteers and exploring together.

Overall, I’m very grateful for my time here and would definitely recommend this hostel to anyone considering volunteering or staying in the city!

Mi experiencia fue bastante buena, Maja es una excelente anfitriona, Darko es bastante amable. Mis compañeros fueron bastante amables. Sin duda volvería a estar en este hostal. Recomiendo bastante hostal ya que es bastante céntrico y tiene muy buen ambiente.

I have a great time at the hostel, i get along really good with a usa guy there that was from the start, a servian girl and the night shift guy darko is great guy, also i got very good along with the travelers there, turkish were nice people, pretty much a great experience, also diego and the indi guy that arrive at the last were nice too, and hasib even dow we had problem of misscomunication we end up getting along very nice after, and the big boss malla was great, she was very comprehensive and flexible with the hours, and the work was pretty nice and chill also the terrace was nice and chi

I had very nice time in Downtown Inn Hostel. Maja is always there to help and Darko(the security guy) is very fun. Tasks are very easy and hours are 100% respected. I even thought about extending my stay here but i had to leave because i had another trip planned. I would definitely come back!

I had to leave before because of some personal issues I talked over with Maja.
The team at the Downtown Inn is great and always willing to give you a hand and to solve any questions when you need it, so I felt very supported in that regard :)
Maja is very organized with the schedule, and the agreed hours were always respected and fair, and also, the tasks were very clear and easy. Basically, you have to treat the space as you’d do in your own home.
The hostel is also in a good location, so it’s easy to get to some attactions on your days off.
