Honeydew is a pioneering eco-community, leading a movement to change how we live together. At Honeydew you will meet other young people who dream of building a different world, based on creative & cooperative principles. We have formed a network of sustainable communities sharing knowledge, resources, and personnel, and our model is scalable: already we have a dozen new projects in Brazil, ranging from organic coffee and cacao to bioconstruction and agroecology. This place was amazing to connect with nature. There’s a beautiful scenery surrounding the property. The working hours were respected. Meeting volunteers from all over the world was incredible! Classes are not offered daily, it all depends on the volunteers and what they themselves can offer during their stay.The host needs to improve his communication and leadership skills, however, the couple that also manages the property, Val and Michele were the best and made sure the volunteers felt welcomed and appreciated. Meals are mainly vegetarian, meat only 2x a week.

My time at Honeydew was a deeply memorable and mixed experience. Filled with growth and connection, but also marked by serious leadership and organizational challenges. The location is genuinely magical. I met some incredible volunteers, and many of the most enriching parts of my stay came from our daily collaborations. Unfortunately, the experience was hampered by a noticeable lack of structure, leadership, and communication from the host. I hope my feedback can assist in improving the functionality of the community. I believe the success of such projects can provide legitimate alternatives.

I couldn’t have chosen a better place for my first volunteering experience. Honeydew is truly special, every day you learn while sharing and creating authentic connections with incredible people. Benjamin is an excellent host and the project itself is beautiful, inspiring, and set in a dreamy location. I even decided to extend my stay, and I’m already thinking about coming back. I don’t even have words. Honeydew is more than home, it’s a place to be grateful for every breath of pure air, for nature, and for everything it gives, all of which deserve every effort in return.
