Be a part of our project!! We do support volunteers with 3-month business visas if you expect to stay in the country in the long -term ( currently the maximum time for a tourist visa is only 1 month)

You will not only have a chance to meaningfully contribute to improving local lives but also meet many friendly people, truly explore Vietnamese culture, and enjoy traditional food. Some of your students might even take you around the city in a way that you could only experience with the locals. Don't be a tourist. Be a traveler. Come and experience a place off the beaten track. This life does not disappoint.

We are 30 minutes from the local beach and 1.5 hours from Cat Ba island which is the most beautiful island in the North of Vietnam

Volunteers have 2 days off ( Sunday and Mondy) but lessons usually take place in Tuesday evening so you can sorta have 3 days to travel around with volunteers which can be a fantastic experience

Working hours are usually from 6 pm to 9 pm so you will have a lot of free time to discover the local area. We are highly sporty people who enjoy going to the gym, and playing badminton, ping-pong, and football, so if you love playing sports, this is an ideal place for you <3

Volunteering at Big Hero’s was an unforgettable experience. I taught English to both teens preparing for IELTS and young children aged 3–5. The students were enthusiastic, motivated, and full of potential. Focusing on grammar and natural word pairings helped them absorb the language more easily. Living and working with other volunteers was rewarding, as it meant sharing the journey with people equally passionate about making a difference. The only downside was the condition of the common areas, which were really messy. I hope this is improved in the future.

I had a lovely time volunteering, Phong and the students were amazing at showing me around all the places of the city, there isn’t loads to do but It’s nice to volunteer somewhere with less touristy activities. The accommodation is simple but completely fine, it wasn’t how the other reviews stating that there was 10 people in a room this may have been because there was only two/three volunteers when I was there. The students were all lovely and the work wasn’t difficult at all. Was good as my first volunteering position

It was a pleasant experience! The students are quite nice and do their part when studying, the hosts take the time to see that their volunteers are well and take their opinions into account. Big Hero is a great community that has a good impact on the community. I definitely recommend living this experience!

Thank you Andy, Vy and Phong for welcoming me in Haiphong.
The classes were a really interesting way to learn more about Vietnamese culture. The classes are really easy and only focus on preparing students for the Speaking. If I could, I would have stayed 2 weeks.
I also got lucky and met wonderful volunteers, which made the experience. I’m a vegetarian, and not everyday there was food for me, but that didn’t bother me much. The facilities are okay, it also didn’t bother me. However, it might be more difficult if you are not used to south east asia standard .

My experience at Big Hero Center was great! The people were amazing and the classes were so fun! You learn a lot from the students as well! Classes are in most cases from 6pm-9pm so you have time to sleep in if you want and to do stuff during the day and even after class!
Im thankful I got this opportunity and I will really miss it!
