Amani Cultural Tourism Arusha

Amani Cultural Tourism Arusha

Hi, my name is Clemency, and I’m delighted to welcome you to my village on the slopes of Mount Meru, just 19 km from Arusha town. Born and raised here, I’ve been working for over a decade to improve the lives of our community members.

Our village is surrounded by lush crops, banana trees, and breathtaking views of both Mount Meru and Mount Kilimanjaro. I invite you to join us as a volunteer to experience the beauty of our culture while contributing to meaningful projects that bring positive change to our community.

What We Do :
We are passionate about empowering our community through education, sustainable development, and environmental preservation. As a volunteer, you can choose to help with several impactful projects:

- Teach English: Help educate young children at our local kindergarten.
- Social Media & Marketing: Assist us in promoting our initiatives and growing our online presence.
- Kindergarten Renovations: Get involved in improving the facilities to create a better learning environment for our children.
- Support at the Veterinary Clinic: Help provide care for animals in the village.
- Farming & Cheese Production: Contribute to growing crops and expanding our small-scale cheese production.
- Tree Planting Project: Share your skills and join us in planting trees to support our reforestation efforts.

Your Stay with Us :
As a volunteer, you’ll stay in one of our two homes, where you’ll be treated as one of us.

Accommodation:
- In my family home:
- One room with two beds and a private bathroom.
- Another room with a single bed.
- Additional bathroom outside the house, along with three toilets.

- In our second house:
- Space for three additional volunteers.

Altogether, we can host up to six volunteers at the same time, ensuring a warm, community-oriented experience.

Meals:
You’ll learn to prepare traditional Tanzanian dishes and enjoy fresh, locally grown produce every day.

Activities:
We want you to feel at home here and enjoy your time outside of volunteering. You’ll have the opportunity to:
- Take part in our coffee tour and learn how coffee is grown and processed.
- Enjoy hiking in the stunning landscapes around our village.
- Join safaris and trekking adventures, with part of the profits going to support our community projects and kindergarten.

Be Part of Our Journey :
We believe that together, we can create meaningful and lasting change. When you volunteer with us, you’ll not only make a difference in our community but also experience the warmth and hospitality of Tanzanian culture. Come as a volunteer, leave as a friend.

My name is Clemency and I will be your host during your volunteer experience. I was born and raised in the village and have been involved in helping the community for over a decade. I wish to welcome you to help continue this journey. Volunteers will be treated as one of the family members, come as volunteer and leave as friend. Volunteers will have the freedom to do their own things after daily work and weekends. You will have the opportunity to learn how to cook local dishes and enjoy fresh produce daily. Another way you can support the children and kindergarten is by donations and sponsorship. Please ask during your stay if this is something you are interested in. Together we can bring changes to the local community. We were: Born to serve Born to change Born to born New Born

We were overally welcome but it missed a true cultural exchange since the unique person truly able to speak English was Clemency, which was for the majority of the time not around the house and involved in the activities.

Nice the coffee tour and kind the cooking class we had the last days of our stay.

The place is fully immersed in a majestic natural landscape. Also walking nearby the property is a authentic experience.

The place is immersed in the nature and a very typical village up the mountains that you mainly reach via moto from/to Arusha town.
Food was truly good and we enjoyed some cooking classes of Tanzanian dishes kindly provided by Witness. Unfortunately the team was not particularly involving and with the exception of a couple of guys sometimes present the majority could not speak English (almost at all). Clemency was very helpful whenever we asked some info but was not present and never asked about ourselves. We hoped for a true cultural exchange. We felt more like in a guesthouse.

When we were there the weather was really cold and rainy so for us it was sometimes freezing. We didn’t expect to be this cold and didn’t bring enough warm clothes. The house was also cold at night which was uncomfortable. The food was good but it was surprising that the kitchen is outside next to the animals but thats how people live there. The kids were really friendly and cute, the other parts of the family haven’t communicated that much with us. They took us to a waterfall and banana beer tour and coffee tour which were great.

We did talk about weather here before arrival, kibdly check the chat we had, i told you its cool season so bring the cold clothes other wise weather is nature you have nothing you can change so not to bring cold clothes was your mistake, also its same kitchen we use for all volunteers so its life.

It was a unique and memorable experience. The working hours were fair, and the food was good, though a bit repetitive. The kids were sweet and lively, if sometimes a bit unruly.
Our host was kind and helpful — they asked about our favourite foods, took us to a waterfall, showed us how to make coffee, and were always ready to assist. While we didn’t quite feel like part of the family and conversations were limited, we appreciated their hospitality. We tried to help whenever we could, though sometimes it felt like they preferred to observe rather than collaborate.

The cultures is not same in the world so as guest we did’nt want you to over work or asking for help for work every time so its not like no collaboration but make you feel at home which you say you didn’t feel and am not understanding or can be your culture as well. Aslo was no limitation limitation of Talk is like you can talk always without point otherwise you bring the topic on board. What i can say culture are diffrent won’t be same 100%
