The Experience

Welcome to my small and nice organic farm in my Karen Hill Tribe village. My name is Papa Sao and my wife is Mama Sao. She can teach you how to make traditional Karen bag and clothes and in ten days you can also make your own. I will show you how to make a bamboo cup or other products from bamboo. You can also learn many things about the herbs we grow and also about Karen culture. Please be a part of our family and stay as long as you like!

My stay at the farm's farm was amazing. I came across this place on a volunteering website worldpackers. In the world that is always rushing, this is like a little peaceful oasis where time seems to go slower. Everything is done slowly with enjoyment, yet all the tasks get done. It is a place where you can truly reconnect with nature. You walk in the jungle, eat organic food which you collect during the day, even sleep surrounded by the sounds of nature. the farm treats you like family, with kindness and care. It was a top experience.

I can't even put into words how good this place made me feel or how much I missed it the moment I left. Beyond the beauty of experiencing a simple life right in the middle of nature, the farm is such a warm and genuine person. His wife Sawedee is just as same. I feel so lucky to meet them. the farm always does his very best for you. You stay in a small shelter.( not fully closed off on the sides but you have net and a beautiful scenery) The food is made with fresh vegetables that the farm picks himself..He taught us so many things and gave us souvenirs to take home. Thanks a lot!

The stay was exactly as described, and the farm is very welcoming and very nice. The surroundings are beautiful, and we even went to a small waterfall. If you're looking to get closer to nature, this is the place!

Had such a beautiful experience with the farm, who was so warm and welcoming. I got to participate in the rice harvest, which was hard but rewarding work (and we were encouraged to take breaks or end for the day whenever we wanted). Accomodation is just as described, clean and comfortable. So great being in nature and learning about Karen culture. Only stayed 3 days but would happily come back for more!

My time on the farm was incredibly immersive. the farm has the kindest soul and introduced me to his family, Karen culture, and amazing campfire-cooked food. There wasn't work to be done, as rice planting had just finished, so I mostly spent my time relaxing and weaving a Karen bag with Mama Sao. Facilities are extremely basic - you cannot get much more connected to nature than this! Thanks for the memories, the farm!
