The Experience

At Sunflower House - Ha Giang Loop, we already have a few graffiti-style murals, but many walls are still waiting for a creative touch! 🎨 We’d love to welcome artistic volunteers who can keep the same colorful, street-art style and help us make the hostel feel even more alive. If you’re a painter, mural artist, or just someone who loves to create — we’re excited to see your ideas bloom here 🌻

I did not get the chance to volunteering atthe home. They cancelled my application 3 days before the start of my 2 weeks stay. They told me they were overloaded. It is understandable, but i wish they had handle the situation better by proposing alternatives. Instead, they just stopped answering my messages...

Although the experience with the homeas a trip was incredible, the volunteering was disappointing due to a lack of communication and organization. There was no clarity about tasks, schedules, or expectations. Arrangements were made mainly via WhatsApp, but were not correctly recorded in the app, and we were suddenly informed that we would need to leave before the agreed-upon date. Activities were limited to interacting with guests and encouraging only positive reviews. I also experienced food poisoning during my stay, as did other guests and volunteers.

The homeis an incredible experience, one that we didn't have as volunteers. The experience we had as volunteers at the homewas very different and quite sad. There is poor communication between the owners and the volunteers. I applied as a content creator, but without prior notice and without any explanation, I was required to interact with guests, and that became the job. There is no schedule, no defined work days, no fixed hours, and no explanation of what needs to be done. I had the worst episode of food poisoning of my life, as other guest and volunteers in the same time

I had an incredible experience volunteering here! The host family and the staff are genuinely some of the nicest people I've ever met — warm, welcoming, and always making sure you feel at home. The work itself is very easy-going, mostly chatting with guests and helping maintain the relaxed, family-style vibe that makes this place so special. I even got to do the homeas soon as I arrived, which was an unforgettable experience and such a great way to start my stay. The location is perfect if you're looking for an authentic Vietnamese experience in a quieter part of Hàthe home.
