The Experience
We are a small and creative English House located in a peaceful Chinese town. Our mission is to help children, teenagers and adults speak English confidently through real conversations, cultural exchange, and fun learning activities, from playful lessons to practical conversation sessions. Volunteers can share their culture, organize English corners, help with pronunciation, or simply chat with our students. 🗣️

If you're looking for a place where you can connect with authentic everyday Chinese life, far from the stress of megacities and the usual tourist routes, Xiangxiang is perfect for you. The project is enriching, the children are polite and kind! Hui is always available whenever help is needed; a wonderful experience, highly recommended!

Our experience with Hui was very positive :) The work is very light and enjoyable; you usually teach one-on-one or small groups of children. The children and their families are lovely and extremely respectful. Hui's school is a perfect opportunity for them to learn and study in a fun way. The school has an important social impact because most people in Xiangxiang do not speak English. Hui was truly wonderful: she picked us up by car at the train station, invited us to dinner with her friends and her family, who are absolutely delightful.

I enjoy this experience very much, kids are very cute , we played games and had fun together, this teaching job was very chill as well , Hui help us to organize everything, she will be in the classroom all the time to help us , very easygoing, they made me feel like home . This city is quite small but still got a lot of people! China is amazing . It will be easier if you can speak Chinese, then you can make a lot of friends

I had a great time! The kids are so cute and you'll enjoy every second playing with them and helping with the activities. The work is very very simple and if you like kids this is the best place for you! They'll be happy to be around a foreigner and play with them. They'll city is a small city so is very good to be immersive in a local culture of Hunan, also there's a train to the big city Changsha that is so cheap and easy to get, you gonna have a lot of time to go there and explore. The place is in the heart of Hunan province so from there you can take quick trips to famous cities around
