The Experience

We’re a family living in the Spanish hills, renovating a house and shaping the land around it. We’re looking for skilled hands—carpentry, construction, plastering, or general renovation—to join us for 32 hours a week. In return, we offer free ingredients for meals, a cozy tent in our forest, and the chance to live close to nature and experience another way of life. Join us and put your craftsmanship to work in a beautiful, peaceful setting.

I came for my first volunteering experience with no expectations, and left feeling like part of the family. John & Odi gave me so much love and care, more than I could have ever imagined. Everyone in the house shares this incredible, positive energy that just brings you closer. It's hard not to feel at home. I tried cooking dishes they'd never tried before and we all sat down to enjoy the food together. Sometimes, we gym & swim in the afternoon. During the weekend, we go hiking around the town and explore waterfalls. Such a lovely experience for those looking for genuine off grid adventure.

Was so nice getting back to John and Odie's place and seeing the progress they've made via hard work and a true passion for their lifestyle. The exact same wonderful souls I left in February. We wanted to try and encourage the boys to take even more of an interest in the wilderness that surrounds them, the plants and animals and it was a pleasure to help get them excited about this as I worked around the grounds! John and Odie are amazing parents raising a couple of brilliant lads. Moy bien! John and Odie are like my big siblings at this point and I'd encourage anyone to come and stay!

This was my first WorldPackers experience and John and Odilia couldn't have been more welcoming. I felt encouraged to contribute to the family living in ways that interested me. I really enjoyed my stay, and the company during my time. I also had a lot of fun playing football on the trampoline with the boys. John and the boys took me out a couple times to see the local area and these trips were absolute highlights for me. The hikes and waterfalls are incredible! I recommend this experience if you're looking to escape the busy world for a bit and experience some off-grid living.

John, Odilia and their boys are really kind people, the first days we got to know each other better but it wasn't weird or anything, it were nice talks, a really good vibe and I felt immediately welcomed. From the first day I truly enjoyed the stay. We had the possibility to find our own routine with what we liked the best. I had heart warming conversations and it kind of felt like home. We got so many good recommendations what we could visit and saw the beauty of the nature around. It is such a beautiful memory of mine and I am grateful I have met so lovely people.
