The Experience

Krishna Eco Farm is a project of Hare Krishna spiritual community. It is being developed as a holistic spiritual centre and low-impact eco project from seed to table. Our aim is to promote more peaceful and ethical lifestyle and offer a positive alternative to the consumerist worldview. We are making 1st steps, however in a long-term we are aiming for self-sufficiency.

Very great first WP experience! Ishan is a very helpful and understanding host. During the experience there weren't any other volunteers (which is something I was clearly told upfront and that from what they told told me is not the usual) but I still decided to go to do some self-reflection, connecting with nature and getting to know more about the Krisna consciousness. I don't regret my decision as I did what I expected and more, not only did I self-reflected and connected with nature, but really got interesting talks with the monks about the movement. Definitely go if you have the chance.

Very much enjoyed my stay at the temple. It was a lovely break from the stress of travel / city life. I attended few temple services and community events and was gifted a few books. They provided insight into the farm Consciousness (upon my request) and welcomed me into the devotional spaces. It was an adjustment for me in terms of the gender separation and limited social/physical contact permitted. It would have been nice to receive a “community engagement rule book” so to speak, upon arrival because I found it a bit awkward learning by trial and error. Overall a great stay! Amazing food!!

It was amazing to live at the farm. I met some really nice people and had the chance to serve the Alpacas and lovely people there. Good vibes and love. The farm and the temple sometimes are treated as composite unit. Go with no expectations and you'll be loving it. Thanks Prana for creating such an amazing community. Will come back sometime.

Since I arrived, they made me feel very welcome, like part of a family. Additionally, the activities were very relaxing, and there was always such positive energy. I would repeat the experience without hesitation.

I had a great time at the farm! Everyone was friendly and welcoming, and they regularly checked in on the volunteers to see if we were having a good time and were all right with our tasks. I liked the food a lot and the accommodation was clean and comfortable. Abt 5 hrs a day were spend helping around the farm (gardening, cleaning, chopping vegetables, caring for the alpacas), and afterwards there was still enough time to enjoy the countryside. I felt invited to the temple activities but never pressured to join. I thank everyone at the farm and temple for a lovely and peaceful time :)
