This hostel is in a great location. However, prospective volunteers should be aware of significant issues. Management frequently made promises that weren't honoured, including providing a useable kitchen and paying sales commissions. There is significant surveillance of volunteers via security cameras, we required permission for basic tasks, there was a strong focus on volunteer led revenue generation and keeping people at the hostel (bar sales). Blurring the lines between a cultural exchange and an unpaid sales role. Communication regarding events and responsibilities was often unclear.

El hotel es diversión, es aprendizaje, es cultura y Caribe! El equipo es inmejorable, todos atentos, profesionales y con la alegría tan típica de Cartagena. Me sentí como en casa, valorada en mis labores y acogida con toda la amabilidad. Lo recomiendo cien por cien si tienes ganas de conocer gente, practicar idiomas y formar parte del corazón de Cartagena. Si en un futuro se da la ocasión de regresar, lo haré sin dudar ! :)

Tuve una experiencia increíble como voluntario en el hotel en Cartagena. Fue algo muy enriquecedor, aprendí mucho y conocí a gente genial. James y todo el equipo son lo máximo, siempre disponibles y muy acogedores. El ambiente es relajado, uno se siente como en casa desde el primer día. Recomiendo totalmente esta experiencia a quienes quieran conocer Cartagena y vivir una gran aventura humana
