The Experience

I'm originally from France but I've now been living in Tokyo for 7 years. I first came here against my will, while I had no interest in this country. However, I immediately fell in love with its values, its culture, its people, its landscapes, etc. Then I used the amazing Working Holiday Visa to experiment how it's like living here. It turned out to be even better than coming as a visitor, so I'm still here more than 7 year later :-)

Emmanuel was my first worldpackers host and I couldn't have wished for a better one! He was incredibly helpful and kind, making sure I'm always comfortable He recommended me so many great places and trips. He is very knowledgeable about the Japanese culture, so we could have great conversations and I learned a lot. I wouldn't have enjoyed Tokyo this much if it weren't for him.

My stay with Emmanuel was such a treat. He is exceedingly accommodating, knowledgeable about Japan and Tokyo, and passionate about helping people enjoy their time to the absolute fullest. His love for Japan is palpable, and his dedication to his guests is inspiring. He worked tirelessly (on top of his actual job) to share his knowledge and craft a well of recommendations/advice for me based on my interests. Our conversations were intellectually stimulating and full of mutual learning. We shared many laughs and great moments together, and I look forward to seeing him again someday soon! <3

Staying at Emmanuel's place was awesome ! He is a very considerate host that knows a lot about Japan and definitely loves to share his knowledge, so he will give you many tips and recommandations to help you discover Tokyo in the best conditions. Plus, he barely expect any work from you beside helping cleaning his place so you have all the free time you want to go visiting. His place is really well located, in a charming neighborhood that is well served by public transports and he lets you use his second bike. Overall I can only recommend you stoping by his place if you want to visit Tokyo !
