The Experience

We’re Sarah & Grant, an Australian couple living in a small town in Kakheti, Georgia. We’re slowly transforming our home, land, and small vineyard into something special — and we need a hand with the more practical side of things. This profile is for those who enjoy hands-on, physical work: think DIY projects, small builds, general repairs, and creative problem solving.

Sarah and Grant were amazing, they're both really approachable and have a never ending trove of stories and adventures to share from their own travels. They are both incredible cooks and the meals alone were often worth the work. There was plenty of variety in the jobs, depending on when you stay and opportunity to share skills and try new things, a proactive approach to the work kept everything flexible on time and experiences. I went there with no expectations and left with new friends and another country added to the list to return to again and again

Sarah and Grant are amazing people and made us feel right at home. From the day we arrived we felt so welcomed. The work was also great - we were outdoors, everything is very hands on and we learnt a lot about the Georgian wine culture. The location and accommodation is beautiful, we got to experience life in a smaller town in Georgia. The food Sarah and Grant provided us was probably the best we have ever eaten. I cant recommend this experience enough and am so grateful to have had this opportunity.

This was our first time volunteering and it was the best experience. Sarah and Grant welcomed us into their home as if they had known us for years. They provided a safe, comfortable and enjoyable place to work and live. The work was enjoyable and we never felt as if we were doing too much. Every day we were learning new skills key life skills, so we are very greatful for that. We did everything from distilling cha cha, building shelves and concreting walls to crushing grapes and tasting lots of wine. Grant and Sarah are the epitomy of generosity and we can't wait to repay their kindness

Sarah, Grant (and Piso 🐱) are amazing hosts! I had a great time and felt truly welcomed. I got to experience Georgian culture, try delicious food, and even join my first Supra with their lovely friends. I was lucky to be there during the wine harvest. I picked grapes, saw them being pressed, and helped transfer the wine to the barrel. Such a unique experience! Thanks again for everything! For the laughs, the good food, the wine (the chacha), and the lovely memories. Wishing you all the best. Hope to see you again sometime <3

From the very first moment, I felt part of the family. A wonderful welcome. They created wonderful conditions for the volunteers – you'll find everything you need. A warm, family-like atmosphere, shared meals, long conversations, and sometimes simply observing nature in silence. I'm glad I could be a part of this project. You help in the garden, the orchard, and you learn about the winemaking process and much more - I didn't know that almonds grow on trees until now. There's so much to do, and you're never bored. They're always there to help. I wish you all the best and see you soon🙏
