What you offer

The Experience
Your task will be very simple, 1) Keep our environment clean ! 2) be friendly to guests ! Your main job is to clean but we may sometime ask for snow shoveling ,reception or small tasks. Must be okay with cold weather (because here in Asahikawa sometime get -15 to -20 degrease) You can travel here by public transportation but if you are planning to go for ski or snowboard your own car is preferable.

Ryu and Chi are the sweetest hosts I had an amazing time, and felt at home You have the freedom to roam around with the scooter 🛵 I was lucky enough to be at some takoyaki and gyoza nights I learnt a lot about Japanese culture and also some Japanese :) Ryu took us on a hike on a free day, it was incredible! Thank you so much for this experience, lots of love and hopefully will see you again !🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻

I had a lot of of fun! Chi and Ryu are awesome hosts, super friendly and welcoming, and flexible with the schedule! The work is varied, mostly cleaning and sometimes helping with chores. They did takoyaki night, took us hiking and to an onsen, and had a few BBQ nights which was amazing! The area is very rural but they have bikes and a scooter you can use to explore or get groceries, and Asahikawa is not far away by train if you want to go to the city. It's the perfect place if you want a laid-back trip in the countryside! There's no AC in the staff dorm in summer but lots of fans.

I really enjoyed my stay at the the guest house. Ryu and Chi are wonderful hosts; kind, welcoming, and easy to talk to. The work mainly involves gardening, weeding, and cleaning the guest houses, and it's usually finished by 1 or 2 pm. Volunteers have access to bicycles and a motorbike, which makes it easy to explore the beautiful surroundings, full of farms and flower fields. If you enjoy being outdoors and don't mind doing some yard work, I highly recommend this opportunity!

Totonu place is a cosy and cute place in Hokkaido countryside where the wonderful landscape are a true break from the big cities of Japan. Work was really chill, we helped at housekeeping gardening and decorate the place with paints ! Thank you so much Ryuji and Chiharu for hosting us, spending good time bringing us around <3

We had a wonderful time! The food parties (Takoyaki & Gyoza night) were so much fun, and the hike with Ryu was a highlight. Spending time with Chi made everything even better. Work started with cleaning, later shifted more to gardening, plus helping with their house renovation. We also loved using the bikes and scooter provided. Just note that the area is very rural—having a car is highly recommended to fully enjoy beautiful Hokkaido!
