Hostel All-Rounder (Reception & Housekeeping Helper, Event Host!)
The experience
Join the Ostello Bello Firenze family! We’re looking for someone reliable to help keep our hostel tidy and welcoming. Tasks include light cleaning, small maintenance, occasional painting, Room inspections Rounds, interacting with guests, hosting some events & More! Enjoy a vibrant atmosphere, meet travelers from around the world, and experience life in the heart of Florence!
What you offer
25 hours of help per week
Housekeeping: Help with changing the bed linens and general housekeeping.
Kitchen Hand: Help prepare, finish and serve meals.
Cleaning: Help clean the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas.
What you get
2 days off per week
Team Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other people.
Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Only hosts solo volunteers (doesn’t accept couples or partners)

Program Details
Do you like clean spaces, organized corners, and a smooth-running environment? We’re looking for a proactive and reliable person to help us keep our hostel in top shape!
At Ostello Bello Firenze, we host travelers from all over the world in a fun and social atmosphere. Your main role will be helping with small daily cleaning tasks, keeping common areas tidy, handling light maintenance (like touch-ups or basic fixes), and occasionally doing some painting work to freshen things up.
Support the hostel in addition to the main staff in morning shifts or evening ones!
In the morning the reception activities as laundry, rounds, taking guests to their floors!
In the evening host the parties and activities, the walking tours, quizzes and help the bar keep the area clean while from time to time helping cooking some easy dishes for the guests!
If you love the people and want to see every aspect of the hostel life this role is for you!
Nothing too heavy or technical — just a helping hand to support our awesome staff and make sure the space feels welcoming for everyone.

Activities & Shift
The usual morning shift:
starts at 9am: - Check outs (Is everyone out?) - Re-stock and clean up of the guests (and yours) kitchen! make it look like an ikea showroom - Inspections: does the bed look ready and the room cleaned? - Laundry (Bed linens etc.) Variables: Something unexpected was left dirty? a bed needs to be prepared? some extra task from the manager? (A room to reorganise, games or L&F to be sorted? you'll be our hands and eyes around the building in collaboration with the reception team!
The usual evening shift: - Collect the glasses from around the bar to wash them - Cook some food for the guests family dinner (something easy but you can be creative!) - Host the events! Get everyone involved! Support the bar manager and the reception team in the evening (Usually from 7pm to midnight)
Rules
It's important to follow the directions of the staff and respect the deadlines that will be given.
Respect other guests and remember they'll see you as part of the hostel!
Make everyone feel welcome in the hostel!
Follow the managers instructions and be kind to all around you!
Host in high demand at the moment
Many worldpackers have been applying to this position recently. The host will probably not be able to respond to all of the applications, so we recommend that you also apply to other hosts in our community and not just this one :)
