The Experience

I'm a neurodivergent midwife living in a peaceful Tuscan farmhouse with my three cats. I'm creating a holistic space for slow living, body literacy and creativity. I need help with gardening, small repairs, DIY and artistic projects. If you enjoy nature, meaningful work and calm days, you're welcome here.

We were the first volunteers in the project. The host is kind and values meals a lot. Tasks were unclear, so we had to ask for a schedule. There were many wasp nests that made work difficult. The house is far from town, and buses are unreliable. Once, a bus didn't stop, and the host said she “didn't feel like” picking us up, so we had to wait for the next bus in the morning. We ended up paying for an Uber ourselves, although we thought the host would cover it in such cases🤔. Communication could improve, but overall the atmosphere was good despite the issues.

Arrived a day late and needed extra pickup due to wrong station. Often distracted, left tools dirty, damaged surfaces, and used materials carelessly. You broke a very precious object for me. Missed two buses despite being told the day before I’d worked all day and finished at 11–11:30 pm, so couldn’t pick them up. Public behavior at times was inappropriate. The location of the house and the transportation options are well described in "the Position".
