The Experience

We're opening our new hostel and guesthouse in Seixal on 1st September. It's our first time running a hospitality business, and we'd love a helping hand. The building is almost finished and will be spectacular. It's a hostel blend - half bunk rooms for 12 people, and 6 luxury double rooms with en-suite bathrooms and balconies. Two shared kitchens, lounge area, a coworking room and our amazing 150 sq meter sea view terrace and sunken fire.

I loved my time at the hostel.Life! Seixal is such a beautiful village with natural pools where you can pretend to be a mermaid, a gorgeous beach and some great places to eat and drink. Stuart and Faye are amazing hosts, they were so generous and made things fun! The first week I was setting up for opening, and then once we were opened the jobs were more cleaning and housekeeping. It was all pretty straightforward and the guest house is such a nice place to live! Only thing to be aware of is that it can be difficult to get around other parts of the hostel, so budget some money aside for Bolts!

Working with Stuart was amazing! He is a really great host and communicated amazingly. The island is beautiful and really cool to experience. Definitely need to budget for rides or hitchhike places!!
