Having the opportunity to work at the host was the best decision we could have made when coming to Rio de Janeiro. First of all, the people including the other workawayers, the owner of the hostel, the employees and the guests that stayed at the hostel were all very very kind, openminded and warm-hearted individuals. Living there felt like having a second family! The work was really calm, even less than 5h a day, which allowed us to see a lot of Rio. The neighbourhood, the host, is adorable, as there are cute little Samba Bars etc. We absolutely recommend it!

The host is a very artistic and mystical place. I liked the host, and you can easily explore more cultural sites if that's what you're looking for in Rio de Janeiro. I recommend this place, especially for those looking for this type of tourism. Thanks to the family for opening their home to me so I could explore this part of Rio de Janeiro.

This experience was not really what i expected. the shared room wasn't clean and my roommate and i got sick… the tasks were simple and clearly explained. the people were nice but the place was a bit empty and i wasn't confortable staying more. i left earlier than planned.

My volunteering experience at the host wasn't what I expected. The work (mainly cleaning) was not well organized, and there were mainly communication issues. The place itself is still pretty nice. The volunteer room and breakfast were okay, but not great. I didn't feel comfortable, so I decided to leave after a week. Sorry, but I wouldn't recommend this place.
