I enjoyed my stay. The property is rural and very idyllic. You will be picked up at the nearest bus station (otherwise ~1h by foot). You have to work 25h per week, which was mostly gardening for me (for example picking out weeds). Work may vary depending on your experience and gender. Hours were respected. Because of the lessons and because it is spoken around the property, the stay was perfect for improving my intermediate french. I had the opportunity to combine my days off to go to La Rochelle, which was great.

It was honestly fine, they are a kind couple. they did make some comments that raised my eyebrows, told me i had a smell,.. and made comments about my fashion choice etc. also it was my first worldpackers experience so i didn't know how to garden, and was trying but they were kind of impatient about that. however, food was very lovely, they also give french lessons, and they are kind

Sorry Nafi, got it wrong again, didnt say you had a smell, but what you had put onto your skin, some lotionsor perfums do smell awful. in some places you would need wear a kind of working outfit, here we accepted your choice ..although we find skirts not ideal for gardening and cleaning. ....you raised your eyebrows to our comments, we had some eyebrowraising to do as far as execution of work/duties were concerned. One does need to get things right pretty fast . As a person :Next to perfect! LOL

The house is about a 1-hour walk from the nearest town. The main task was gardening, done either in one 5-hour block or split between morning and late afternoon. It wasn't too heavy and matched the description. Unfortunately, the pool and bikes weren't working during my stay, but they were being repaired. Food may not be enough for physical work, so I recommend bringing snacks - there's a fridge available. Accommodation was in a separate house from the main residence. Some conversations, especially around politics and culture, may be uncomfortable for some volunteers.

hi Isabella, you are the very first one to say that food was not enough, people can ask to get more, they have got a mouth and it is mentioned that for lunch there is a snack. we are neither a hotel nor a restaurant and for personal preferences we do not cater. there is a full and consistent meal in the evening and noone goes away hungry. As far as conversation is concerned, well we do speak out our opinion, true- luckily here in Europe we still do have the right of free speech uncensored !!!

Volunteer Experience with Eva and Gilles was amazing. Their property is located in a beautiful country side. As soon as my trip was confirmed, Eva provided me with a guide of how to get to the place including flights and bus schedule, pick up time. On the day of arrival, I was not scheduled to do my hours. The work started the next day according to the schedule prepared by Eva. I met other international volunteers and explored the neighborhood, tested delicious home made French dishes .
