Although the hostel is super nice and the surrounding area is beautiful, there were a lot of tasks and benefits highlighted in the experience that were not offered upon arrival. If you're looking for a more laidback independent kind of experience with a lot of freedom to explore nature, I'd definitely recommend this experience.

I had a great time and can recommend this experience. From time to time it was a little chaotic because the project is still new but I am sure everything will get sorted out in the future. The work was easy-going due to me visting off-season. If you want a full house you might rather choose a stay during summer. Anyways, the mountains do not disappoint. I, personally, wanted to see some snow and I did not only that but frozen waterfalls and lakes. It was great.

Let me just be clear on two things: 1. The host was super nice and kind to me 2. This wasn't at the hostel but at another of his locations in Bratislava that is guest-run. I'll be honest, I left after a day. The whole thing was sketchy. While it was a last minute trip, it felt like they weren't used to/prepared to have volunteers at all. There was one other staff member, but she was gonna leave in a few days. Kinda felt like it I was supposed to run this entire hostel alone (I don't mind helping, but this wasn't pre-explained). Bottles everywhere, gross floors, sketchy guests. Overall not fun.

My experience in Sherpas Hostel was amazing. I totally recommend it. The landscape is beautiful and there are a lot of public transport connections to other parts of the mountain or other cities. It is a great place to connect with nature, have fun and meet new people.

We had a really nice time in Bratislava, the tasks were easy and we had a lot of free time. Marian is very chill and nice person. I recommend this place. P.S. We did not volunteer in the hostel but in Bratislava.

Had a wonderful time at the hostel! The work is very reasonable and since we were there during the low season, lighter than usual. I had the opportunity to do so much hiking and really immerse in nature. Marián is easy to communicate and reasonable, I look forward to see what they create as they open more hostels in the future. Such a homey environment that created an intimate space to allow travelers to connect. But I believe the vibe and space is created by how much effort you put in to it :)

I had a great time here and stayed for 3 weeks It is a gorgeous part of the world with tons of amazing hikes to do. The hostel itself is cozy and comfortable and I met lots of really amazing people here. The only thing I would say is as a solo female volunteer, if there hadnt been another really amazing volunteer who was there with me, I wouldn't have felt completely comfortable there alone and probably would've left early. Feel free to reach out if you have questions about that. However, overall a really cool place and I am glad came.

Best volunteering ever. Jan & Marian worry not only about the hostel but, also about you. The work can be done easily and the apartment is modern-cozy. Also there are people from everywhere coming to this hostel and the views are incredible. Take care at night because of the 🐻. Anyway if you want to go deeply into the wild, respect the space, be clean and feel good with the hosts and people then, you're welcomed! Thank you🤙🏼
