My experience in the guest house was really good, i was working 4 hours per day in the reception and I had the chance of meeting guests from all over the world, i felt like one more guest so we were playing board games and going for dinner and beers every night. My mates were very helpful and nice with me and Howard who is the owner is the most friendly person i've ever mate. My goal doing the volunteer was to learn about working in a hostel, and it was very fun and easy. I really enjoy Malacca, it's a beautiful city to visit with many activities to do. Thanks Howard! I'll be back!!

I had a great time at the guest house! As a small organisation, you can expect to handle a variety of responsibilities )reception and cafe), but none of them are very strenuous. Initiative is helpful, especially a willingness to do more than the basics and to generally help out around the place, even if you're not technically on shift. Volunteers at the hostel are entitled to a private fan room. The facilities are basic, but acceptable. The most important aspect of both staying and volunteering at this hostel is promoting a friendly communal atmosphere so if you like that, come here!

The work in the hostel is simply check in and check out of the guests, help at breakfast, promote bike tour and have fun together with the backpackers. Volunteers stay in private rooms, have breakfast and free beer when working at the bar. Howard is an incredible guy. I sure recommend it!

I had a great experience in the guest house. I worked there for three weeks and that was enough to fall in love with the city and specially with the guesthouse. The ambience in the hostel is amazing, you can spend the day without going out and you'll never get bored. The working hours are easy and Howard is a great host, you really feel like home. I will definitely recommend this hostel as a traveller and also as a working exchange.

I spend three weeks working in the hostel and I really had fun there. Howard is a nice guy, always asking if everything is OK and taking care of you. The city has many food places to try and the hostel is very comfortable. If you want to relax, meet people and have fun the rooftop of the hostel is the right place to do it. I will definitely come back.

Ahhhh where can I start? Howard and Jaqueline are amazing people, they are always smiling and willing to help all the time. This was my first volunteering and I am glad I chose this one. This has been lovely, you get to meet new people everyday and you learn new things all the time, how to manage check ins and outs, how to serve breakfast, etc. The place is big and amazing, cheap and free breakfast included, amazing for backpackers! I can't wait to come back in the future. The vibe here is amazing. I will miss them a lot.

I had an amazing time with Howard, Jacqueline and all the other volunteers in the guest house. Howard and Jacqueline are both very caring, helpful and easy going, it was a pleasure and fun to work with them. The volunteers at that time we a great crew and supported each other. The Guesthouse is immediately loved by anyone who stepped in (incl me) . The working hours gave me a lot of time to explore Malacca and the Guesthouse is very central, 4 min to the famous Night Market and 3 min to the river. I highly recommend the guest house to stay and/or volunteer!!! Thank you Howard and Jacqueline <3
