This volunteer experience was incredible. The Hostel is not right next to the city center, but it's not too far either, a 20 minute-walk, or they offer a free boat ride to the center. The Hostel facilities are comfortable, and the staff is very friendly. The job involved working on a sunset the boat on the Mekong river for tourists. We greeted and explained the activities on board, and the boat lasted about three hours. You could watch a beautiful sunset from the boat every day. The owner also asked us to teach basic English to the Hostel staff who work in the kitchen, which was a lot of fun.

Since it was low season, I didn't work on the boat but instead helped Denis with small tasks in the mornings and taught the staff English in the evenings after their shifts. I really enjoyed the peaceful, eco-friendly lodge away from the city as it was a relaxing environment to slow down in. The team was kind and welcoming, and even with the language barrier, we shared plenty of laughs. Accommodation was simple but comfortable, and I received one meal a day from the lodge's restaurant plus 25% off the next. Overall, it was a meaningful and sustainable way to experience Luang Prabang.

I really liked the experience here. The place is very cool and peaceful, and working on the boat was very pleasant. I had a great time with Denis and his family. I was there during the low season, so the atmosphere was quite peaceful. I helped out for about three hours a day on the boat during the sunset the boat, and the rest of the day was free. The hotel is a bit far from the city center, but they offer free boat shuttles, and I was able to rent a bike to get around. I met some wonderful people and enjoyed a week surrounded by calm and nature.

We truly loved our stay in Sasa Lao. The place where we stayed, close to our missions, was great. a real heaven of peace. The staff played a big role in making the experience enjoyable. especially the cookers and the receptionist, who were really kind and welcoming. Regarding the missions on the boat, the explanations were quite unclear at first and we didn't really understand what was expected of us. however after three days we were able to find our rhythm and better understand our role. The person in charge of supervising us on the boat was very funny. the director of the place was cold.

We had a good week at Sasa Lao Guesthouse and Sasa the boat. The team was kind and even gave us a private double room instead of a dorm. The guesthouse is a bit outside of Luang Prabang, but renting a scooter there is easy and cheap. Our tasks included helping on the boat during the boat and creating content for their communication. Working hours were about 3h/day and quite flexible, though sometimes we felt a bit useless. Not many staff members speak English, except Denis and Sing, but overall it was a nice experience that we recommend.
