The hotel and the team will always have a special place in my heart! We talked to collaborate on my agreement of what my tasks would entail. I was doing their social media, which involved posting, photography, videography, editing and community management/engagement. The hotel is safe, clean and Kathleen and the women running it are fantastic and so welcoming. She helped me immensely with my Spanish, as did the social media role. The area is fun and friendly, there's lots to explore- local culture, the beach and forest, and great food. I'd recommend this host to anyone!

I was the only person “volunteering” and I hoped to meet other people, but I was alone. You really need intermediate Spanish as it was hard to communicate with the guests and the cleaning lady (that you will help). Be prepared to really work 5 hours cleaning the rooms (or 3 hours cleaning and 2 hours “reception”). Have to learn everything on the go, no manuals available and everything is in Spanish. I would really recommend betting your Spanish to an at least intermediate level. Overall, it was pretty lonely. You just work for the accommodation +laundry, which I think doesn't really worth it.
