The Experience

We are a friendly family with two children and 3 Airbnb rooms in our home. We need help with general cleaning, tidying rooms, and laundry. Support is needed 3–4 hours per day. Tasks include changing bed linen, washing and folding laundry, and keeping shared areas clean. Ideal for organised, reliable helpers who enjoy a family home environment.

First of all, Merve is awesome! God bless her! She is really nice, funny, flexible, empathetic and grateful, always in touch to answer any questions! We had a privet comfortable room, everything was really nice! The tasks were easy, and since it was my partner and I cleaning, we took way less than 4 hours to clean. You can manage the time it takes you to do the laundry and other little tasks according to the activities you want to do throughout the day in London, so it is pretty cool to the guest house here! It was a great experience for us!

The experience was great overall! The work we had to do around the house was flexible and easy enough that we could enjoy London for the majority of our days. But there were a few things that did not sit right with us. The mess that was left for us to clean in the private area downstairs was surprising to say the least. Also, one of the windows in our bedroom upstairs could not be closed all the way and it got cold during the night, which was not ideal.

I just wanted to clarify a few things. You were given a living room space in a family home during my holiday period. You left all the bed sheets unwashed, and the cleaner struggled because of how the place was left. We also received negative ratings during your stay, which was disappointing. I didn’t want to leave a bad review, but this isn’t a hotel. For the future, a hotel may suit you better, as volunteering requires shared responsibility and respect for the home.

Overall, it was a great experience! The cleaning was quick and easy, which gave us plenty of time to explore London and enjoy our days off. The schedule was really flexible, which I appreciated a lot. The only downsides were that communication with Merve could be slightly vague at times, and our private space not being very clean when we arrived. I also felt a little uneasy as the kitchen door to the backyard couldn't be locked. Here and there, there were little things that could be improved. Still, I really enjoyed my the guest house! ˗ˏˋฅᨐฅˎˊ˗

Hi You stayed in my family home while I was on holiday and were responsible for cleaning private areas. All instructions were provided in writing and video, yet you still couldn’t follow them. The door and window worked perfectly; it was just unfamiliar for you. You left the bed sheets unwashed, and the cleaner struggled. We also received negative ratings. This isn’t a hotel, so volunteering requires responsibility.
