The Experience

My husband Vasilis is trying to paint some parts of our house. He needs some help to do some repairs on it. If you have experience or an apprenticeship in constructing walls, ceilings, floors, laminate, as a plumber or in electronics you are more than welcome to help us. Unexperienced workawayers can help with: - painting walls inside and outside of the house - repairing old furniture (sometimes)

I absolutely loved my experience with Irini and Vasilis! They were welcoming, friendly, involved me in their lives - brought me to events, on adventures, out for dinner, cooked delicious food, and were soft on work expectations. They communicated what they hoped for me to get done, mostly cleaning tasks, and collaborated on which days would work for working and being off. Their home has three + beaches within a 12-20 minute walk, and they are also close to downtown, about 20 minute walk with many great food and activity options! I enjoyed swimming in the sea, renting bikes, and going on hikes!

Irini and Vasilis are AMAZING. They have a lovely place. They communicate expectations clearly, assign manageable tasks, and made sure we had a great time while we weren't working. We'd typically work 8-1 and have the afternoon/ evening off. They live right next to the city so you can walk into town or to many beaches. They days when Irini whipped up some Greek food were definitely highlights, alongside hitting up the beach almost every day. 🤘🏼 The town does close end of Oct-Apr?, so most rental places were closed and many shops. But the weather was nice and the town was quiet. LOVED IT

Staying with Irini was one of those experiences that feels less like volunteering and more like being part of something meaningful. From the first moment, I felt at home. Living and working with Irini felt like sharing a home with family. She welcomed me with open arms (and an amazing sunset), involved me in her daily life, and created a safe and inspiring environment where I could be myself and contribute with purpose. The work was diverse and Sara is the cutest dog ever. the home is amazing and I walked around enjoying the city, the beach and the incredible views. I recommend a lot.
