Hosts are very kind, caring for the animals and volunteers, always doing their best to create the best environment for everyone. Work is not hard and actually very enjoyable. Watching the most beautiful sunsets while being surrounded by horses and amazing people, community, events, campfires was something i will never forget. Lobitos feels very safe, and locals are very friendly and welcoming. My first volunteering trip couldn't be more perfect. I learned so much, met wonderful people and created memories that i will carry with me forever🫶🏻

As my first time solo travelling, my month spent with Pia and Julia at the Ranch has absolutely ignited my interest in travelling more. The hours and tasks are not too difficult and you are taught everything you need to know within the first few days; With less volunteers it can be difficult to organize your free time as it is a 30 minute (fast) walk to Nuevo Lobitos. However with more volunteers or a bit of communication with Pia or Julia, you can easily have shifts covered if you want to do something. The housing is good and Pia and Julia are always open to suggestions. Thank you the organization!

The ranch is an incredible place: peaceful and quiet, you'll get to recharge your batteries! You ll have plenty of free time to explore around. The main village is around 30mins by walk. For an hyperactive girl like me it was lacking activities even with the volonteering hours and the surf, but if you look for something a bit less stimulating than me, I recommend. One of the things I liked the most was Pia introducing me to everyone in town; since it is a very small place, you ll know everyone in a week!

Hey Clarisse , thanks for your Review. Can you please tell us how to get better in the points you thought we have to get better at? So we can make progress. We saw you only have 3 stars and you were only there for a week.

My time in Lobitos was great! Pía is truly doing a great work with the community and the animals. The horses are very easy to work with and very calm. Work is not hard at all and I actually really enjoyed it. I hope the accommodations and the volunteering program is more organized and clear for future volunteers. There were no clear rules from the beginning, neither in the house or at the ranch, which sometimes made the agreement regarding the exchange unclear. Overall, Pia is a nice welcoming person, and her work with the horses is truly inspiring, it was great being part of this project!

I loved my time in Lobitos. The work isn't hard, just spaced out through the day, and the ranch is about a 40-min walk from town, so planning free time can get a bit tricky. This is much easier with more volunteers. The requested fee is for accommodation, so not a typical work exchange, which I didn't expect. But staying with a local couple was a great experience. I just wish I'd known in advance and at least had the option to stay elsewhere. Know that Lobitos has v limited amenities, but the community is amazing, and Pia is doing incredible work for the local people and animals.
