Artists and Painters to Create Art and Decorate Seeking Volunteer

I felt very disrespected and undervalued. Great nature and great other volunteers. However, Enrique treats people badly and says “not to take it personally”, makes pressure to finish tasks fast even if there's nothing else to do later, asks for very nonsense tasks, speaks about the female volunteers in a sexualized way and seems to purposely choose bad food for the volunteers. I had a very bad experience at the kitchen after he was forcing me to talk about my love life, then made me say a coworker looked handsome, talked about my legs and when I was stretching said “I'm still a man.Haha”

I had a great time volunteering at the hostel. The tasks were simple and did not take much time. The host was very flexible with working hours so we could do what we wanted during the day. He went above beyond his duties to make me have a great experience. The scenery is incredible and I will forever remember my time here!

The experience at this hostel was the best I could expect and this is thanks to the host, Enrique. He took care of us like a father, was funny like a friend, worked with us like a leader and gave us life advices like a wiseman. The Hostel is on the hostel di the hostel where you can meet interesting different pilgrims everyday and it is also not far from the beach where you can have a discount for the surf lesson, also that was amazing. Thanks to this experience I have grown a lot and I will carry with me everything I have learned.

Fantastic place and good people, very remote though getting around is not very easy but hitch hiking worked okay and walking was fun. The host Enrique is a wonderful man, he gave me some meaningful advice I'll carry with me in life, very thankful for this experience :)

I really enjoyed volunteering in the albuerge! It has been my first worldpackers experience and I could learn a lot. The host Enrique was very calm and explained everything well. He always made sure that we are alright and that we practice our Spanish. The task were very fair and various, so it didn't got boring at all. In my free time I explored with the other volunteers the nature and beautiful beaches. We also learnt surfing! All in all, I would recommend volunteering here!

My experience in Asturias was pretty amazing! Villahormes is a beautiful town, close to some gorgeous beaches and surrounded by nature, but be aware that it is quite remote. The work was not very difficult, we had 4 hour shifts every day, and it included either cleaning the rooms, managing guests or helping out in the kitchen (as the hostel also has a pizzeria). We were a lot of volunteers, which I personally loved because we became a sort of family by the end of the week. The host, Enrique, was also very nice, he helped us practice our Spanish and gave us some great life advice.

That experience was really one of a kind! There're 3 shifts a day, 4 hours each. The work is not hard at all. (Cooking, cleaning, making beds) The rest of the day you get to spend in the lovely rural surroundings. You can go surfing at a beach 25min away by foot. If you're looking for a chill and remote place to stay, that experience will be perfect for you!Make sure to bring your own towel tho, since there are no towels to rent. The host is a really nice and funny guy who loves to speak Spanish to you - even if you don't speak a single word(just like me)it was so funny! Muchas gracias Enrique!

The village of Villahormes is a beautiful quiet place, and there are some great beaches at walking distance. Enrique is so respectful and has explained us the tasks clearly. I have been working in general cleaning and in the kitchen. There's no market in the village but you can go by train or bus to the town of Nueva the hostel or the hostel if need to buy something. What I enjoyed the most was the warm atmosphere, specially with my roomies. So grateful for the memorable moments I have had here.

My first WorldPackers experience, and Enrique couldn't have been a better host! He explained everything with patience and expertise, was great fun to talk to, and made sure I practiced my Spanish. Although not quite what I expected, I would recommend to anyone!
