The Experience

basically, we need you to help a pair of father-son duo building two Balinese-concept "Villa", two hostel-themed buildings, a permaculture garden, and a mini waste incinerator. most of the time it's the father who is working, and he is 70 already. so, a good pair of hands will be very helpful. the idea is to build a sustainable guest house right in the most culturally and historically significant village in Bali.

It was a really nice experience in Taro. It is quite and full in the nature. You have to deal with many tasks of the locals to create a good space for human and nature. Even when the task were sometimes hard it was really nice to see the result. Anton was really kind and open minded. He welcomed everyone with open arms. Also everyone else, who worked here, enjoys to deal with you and give you a feeling like home.

Taro Tour in Weddanga (near Kintamani, Bali) was the most authentic experience I've had as a solo traveler. Far from tourists, I helped with social media, website, and online content while living true Balinese village life. The host Taro is kind and inspiring, and Koko & Anton made the whole journey unforgettable. Peaceful views, local food, and real culture not just volunteering, but finding a second home. Highly recommended for anyone wanting real connection and purpose. This is not your typical Bali adventure. No tourists, no crowds β€” just real connection, culture, and nature.

What a lovely experience with Anton and the family! Felt so truly welcomed by everyone <3. Very reasonable hours and expectations (including the opportunity to learn new building skills!), and got to learn about the beautiful village a bit more. Super serene location too :)

We had an amazing 2 weeks volunteering here! Anton and the family made us feel welcome immediately and looked after us very well. The work is very varied and was a lot of fun. We had the opportunity to take part in local ceremonies and explore the beautiful areas around Taro. The village is close enough to Ubud for day trips. Would highly recommend!
