The Experience

Live in the heart of Gerês! Help 19h/week with the cleaning of the campsite, with 2 consecutive days off. You’ll get 3 meals a day, great company, and close contact with nature. Just bring your own bedding, towels, and personal hygiene items. Perfect for those seeking an authentic and eco-friendly experience!

It was my first volunteer experience, with my doubts and expectations, and I couldn't have had a better experience! Lorena is a wonderful, generous, flexible, and sociable. She cares about making sure you have a great experience and enjoy your stay. She, her entire family, and the people around her (Ivete) made me feel at home. This volunteer experience is for those who want to be in touch with nature, in a small mountain village, and immersed in the local culture. Working hours are 100% respected. You will have your own cabana. I sincerely wish them all the best and success always 💖

Lorena is such a kind, caring, attentive & thoughtful host.She checks in with you to make sure you're feeling comfortable,that everything is okay & is always responding quickly through text or call if needed.The tasks are exactly as described.I worked on the Bivaques & got to see them from start to finish-such a cool transformation.She is always aware of the hours and never asked for more even though there were some days we were under the hours.She provided a lot of local information about the hikes & culture/holiday information,even included us in family Easter meal.She is an amazing human.

Lorena and her family are nice! They were warm and kind since the very beginning. Also they are willing to help, provide material and anything you need for having a wonderful experience. The camping has nice people working and staying, and the place is wonderful... waterfalls, forest, trekking and more are some of the things I did (and there are more things to do!) Thank you for everything!

My experience was really incredible !!! Lorena is a very nice person and Im very happy to meet someone like her on my trip. Her and her husband are always very concerned about how I would get there, if I ate well, if I was sleeping well or if I needed something. I made hiking, visit waterfalls, i visit another cities and used a eletric scooter to Discovery arround. I will keep very good memories of this place, was a unique opportunity to know this part of the world. Thanks so much ! I hope you and your family are always happy and achieve all your goals.😀 Be happy!

Este ha sido el mejor voluntariado sin lugar a dudas. Lorena es encantadora, también lo es Tiago, los dueños del camping. Siempre atentos y casi con más ganas de enseñarnos el lugar y sus alrededores de que les echáramos una mano. Te explica excursiones, las festividades y lo que quieras saber. Ellos saben lo que significa la palabra "voluntariado". Al llegar, Lorena te explica las tareas con detalle, siempre con cariño y especial atención a nuestras dudas (si las tuviéramos). Me supo no poder ayudar más por culpa del tiempo. Ha sido de las mejores experiencias de mi vida.
