I loved my time at the hostel, it felt like a home away from home, it has such a sense of family and community without it being forced. The hostel itself is beautiful, and located right on the lake with amazing views of the volcanoes and lots of swimming spots. The work is easy, and you're working with your friends so it doesn't even feel like work! I actually could not recommend the hostel more, I never wanted to leave and will definitely be back!

From the moment I arrived at the hostel, I was welcomed with open arms. The first thing I noticed was the warm and inclusive feeling I got from each and every person who contributes the magic that the hostel embraces. I continue to learn more each day, creating endless opportunity to grow and never dull shift. Each task is thoroughly explained and equally divided creating a fun and adaptive work environment. The food is made with love and is the best I've consistently eaten in two years of traveling. Alongside the place the environment and surroundings are spectacular.

My experience at the hostel was very positive and transformative. I felt at home there and was warmly welcomed by the entire team. The place is truly one of the most beautiful spots around the lake. The working hours are fair and flexible, and the food provided is delicious and plentiful. If you're looking for a place with nature, fun, and a family-like vibe, this is the perfect spot. I'm very grateful for the opportunity and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Lake Atitlán. Thank you so much, the hostel family (my favorite mess)!!! I miss you all and hope to return.

The hostel will always have a piece of my heart. I first stayed as a guest and ended up coming back as a volunteer, which was the best decision ever! Anna, my manager, was amazing. She kept everything super organized and made the experience fun and stress-free. The shifts were only 5 hours, so you get plenty time to enjoy the lake (you're never bored here). Family dinners and nightly activities brought everyone together and I left with friendships I'll treasure forever. you can get Spanish lessons and diving here too! I'd come back in a heartbeat to this magical place. Love you, the hostel <3

I've seen many reviews for volunteer experiences where people felt that they had truly found a family and home, and the hostel was exactly that for me! I've had such a special and amazing time volunteering here, it has been such a pleasure to experience life in Santa Cruz. The work was always fair and quite enjoyable, and the benefits for volunteers were truly great too! Dave and Deedle have truly built such a special space and I'm glad that I could have been part of it for the time that I was!
