It's an excellent spot to visit the surrounding area — there are lots of tours and nearby towns to explore. The schedule is light, and the work is simple. Antea is a super nice person — very attentive, always available, and flexible if you ever need a day off or a schedule change. If you ask her for information about places, she always does her best to help you. It was a really great experience! I recommend staying for two weeks, three at most, since Durres isn't very big.

I had a great time at the hostel, it was my first volunteer experience and at the beginning i was quite nervous about being away from home. Antea is a lovely woman and made me feel very comfortable and at home there. The volunteers that i had in my 2nd week were awesome and i felt so at home there with them. It's a really good opportunity to meet loads of different people, explore Albania and learn their culture as there is plenty of time for you to explore on your days off or before/after you work. it's very easy work but i also learnt about reception which was cool. i really enjoyed it:)

(HIGHLY RECOMMEND) I had a great experience volunteering (first time)at the hostel. I owe a big part of the great experience to having some of the best co-volunteers at my time there. We really came together as a group to help each other when we didn't know how to handle an issue or particular situation. We were always there for each other even when we were not working and I truly appreciated that “family vibe”. The manager has an efficient system of letting the volunteers come together to make their schedules but ensuring that everyone gets two days off (and in a row I may add).
