I found this to be a great experience. Carl is a treasure trove of information and fun to be around. Once I arrived at his property he gave me a tour and a rundown of the house rules. i find all to be within reason. The property holds up well to the photos and Carl was great at setting up a schedule. There are plenty of projects to keep people busy and Carl is great at delegation. The only thing to note is that it is on the outskirt, so transportation is necessary if you want to get around. Carl is always looking for new ways to accommodate guests. I highly recommend the farm.

From the beginning, I felt welcome at Carl's house. Sarah was the one who received me and she was lovely at all times. I spent most of my days working with Carl, with whom I laughed so much that my abs hurt. He is a wonderful, understanding person, always in a good mood. It's hard to feel down when he's around because he will inevitably make you laugh. The days passed by super quickly, and I would definitely recommend the experience. I also spent time with Emilie, a lovely person to be around. I want to thank all of them, and even Carl's friends, for everything! I'm going to miss you all!

My experience at the farm was great. Carl, or Pom as the locals call him, was a great host. I enjoyed our conversations and his great British humor. Most of the work was helping him build some garden areas. Mackay is a beautiful region and the property is on a the farm that overlooks some water.

Carl has a lovely home with beautiful views and not far from some nice beaches. He's particular about how he likes things to run at his house, but everything is communicated very clearly and even when he's away working he's easy to get in touch with if you ever have questions. I can see no better way to meet some locals than to go with him to The Leap Hotel. He's generous with food provided and encourages you to get out and see some of the local sites. I have a car, but it would have been tough to get around here without one.

I had a great experience staying at Pom's place, it's a warm and welcoming space, perfect for connecting with nature and escaping the noise of the city. The tasks are simple, mostly housekeeping and gardening. Pom is very cheerful and always makes sure you feel at home and enjoy your stating. I was also with Emilie, who is very nice and helped me a lot with transport since I don't drive. I do recommend having a car to enjoy the experience even more. Thank you so much for welcoming into your home, help me with my english and teach me aussie words, Pom. I hope to see you both soon :)
