The Experience

The night shift provides an opportunity to work during a time when the day slows down and the work environment becomes more tranquil. This shift is ideal for those who concentrate better at night and prefer a quiet setting. The night shift typically involves less customer interaction and more independent work.

Great experience at the hostel, great location and the rooftop was top notch to hosts events and meet ups with guests, the comedy show and vibe was pretty unique. Everything is walkable and I had a blast in Istanbul thanks to the staff, Selah and Mesut. Thank you guys!

The hostel is an excellent location, you have Hagia Sofía and the Blue Mesque just a few minutes away on foot, and It's right in the heart of Sultanahmet. The work is simple at the reception, and they fulfilled what was agreed regarding breakfast and dinner. Eziz was always helpful in resolving questions about how the host works, as well as giving advice about the city. Unfortunately, there were serious problems with the terrace employee, Mert. He constantly has issues with all volunteers, is an explosive person, and there was an incident in which he tried to attack me.

It is a really nice Hostel to socialize and make friends, the rooftop is beautiful and If they have a nice cook and bartender at the moment (cheers to me and Fabi) you can have really good food and drinks for a cheap price compared to the rest of the area (It's at the heart of the very touristic european side). Comedy Nights are awesome (Cheers to Selah) and the general vibe of the hostel is very chill. It could be better in terms of organization and cleanliness (But it is still one of the cheapest accomodations in Istambul with a Nice breakfast). I would for sure comeback to the hostel.

From day 1 the communication was lacking. Host showed up late to relieve my shift, never received a schedule, when I had a day off the host let me know a few hours before my shift. Over the course of 3 weeks I accumulated 50 hours overtime. The host promised to pay me for those hours but hasn't done so to this day. The accomodation wasn't very comfortable. The bathrooms were out of order, dirty and smelly. The bedroom was stuffy since the AC was broken. All in all a very disappointing, exploitative experience.
