The hostel was the most perfect first volunteering experience. The hostel itself is the most comfortable and beautiful place I have ever been to and you feel at home immediately. The work you do is very laid back and routine and you have an unbelievable amount of free time. Silvana is very generous with assigning tasks and is always available to you if you need anything. Connemara is one of my most favourite places I have ever been and I'm so happy I got to explore it during my month at the hostel. I was very lucky to stay in a caravan all to myself.

If you're into the vintagey/eclectic vibe you will absolutely love staying there. The Hostel is so cute and you can tell how much this Hostel has grown it's personality over time. There are a lot of guests who make art there and Silvana makes sure to curate a cozy and artsy inviroment. I stayed in the caravan outside so i did had my own space which was nice. The working hours were great and respected. We had a 3 day weekend where the hosts were on a holiday which was a bit intense but also a great learning experience. I feel like my english got more fluent. I would come back again☺️

My stay here was simply amazing! Silvana and Stephen are so kind and supportive... We could chat about a lot of things; the food is delicious and the hostel is so unique. The first time I arrived here, I felt like I was in a movie; it's a beautiful and lovely place. If you love reading, there are books everywhere, and you can practise English and Spanish chatting with the guests and also with Silvana. The tasks are easy, and you'll have plenty of time to rest, go hiking and meet the surrounding areas. I had an incredible time and made a lot of friends here! Hope to come back soon!

While Letterfrack and Diamond Hill are beautiful, I had a bad experience. The first week was pretty good, however, I later found out the owners were going on vacation and were leaving us, the volunteers, in charge of everything at the hostel. This wasn't something that was previously agreed upon upon my arrival, because if I had known, I probably wouldn't have accepted. The working hours became excessively long, sometimes reaching 12 hours between cleaning and then being left in charge of waiting for guests to arrive. I was on the verge of collapse, and it didn't seem to matter.

Stephen & Silvana replied

Jorge never respected the agreed 4h/day schedule and was careless in his duties. His claim of 12h workdays is false—he did about 2h in the morning, had free time until 3pm, and check-ins were never his responsibility. The other volunteers managed fine, but Jorge refused to cooperate, undermined the female volunteer in charge, and showed immaturity. His account misrepresents reality, as confirmed by the reviews of the other two volunteers who stayed at the same time
