I had a overall good experience at the hostel. I appreciated that the volunteers had our own place to stay separate from the hostel. It was lovely to meet the other volunteers and a great chance to meet guests from all over the world. Lagos a lovely beautiful town and an amazing getaway spot. The hours at the hostel were very fair and the work quite manageable. The only caveat is that the owner can be critical and accusatory at times which put me in some comfortable spots. Also communication could've been better as volunteers were often not notified beforehand of new guests into our space.

I was very happy when I started volunteering at the hostel. Lagos is a very cute town, the hostel seemed warm and cosy and the volunteers I met there are incredible. But this feeling quickly faded. I wasn't welcomed or didn't receive training from the hosts. Yet, we had no room for error and have been threatened to be fired after the smallest mistake. The communication was always very complicated. The room I stayed in was very mouldy, and I was very ill for 2 weeks. I wouldn't recommend volunteering at the hostel. My time here has been very stressful, and I decided to leave earlier.

I loved the little town, the surrounding nature, and the fact that the hostel was exclusively for women. However, the hosts need to work on their professionalism and communication skills. Some of the information on the worldpackers website was a bit misleading, especially the pictures – unfortunately, the living conditions in the staff house are pretty poor. The other volunteers made this experience worthwhile, though, and I enjoyed working on reception and being part of people's journeys. The guests were so interesting!

Lagos is a beautiful town and I had the best time living with the other volunteers — we became like a little family. The work was light (2–3.5 hrs/day with 2 days off), and the location was amazing. Sadly, the hosts were often aggressive and unprofessional, sending hostile messages and threatening to fire us. I felt unsafe speaking up and ended up leaving early after being forced to work on my day off. The house had mold, and many of us got sick. I loved Lagos but unfortunately can't recommend this exchange.
