The Experience

Hello! We live in the beautiful province Värmland in Sweden. We try to be self sufficient on our farm. We have a greenhouse and a market garden about 4000m2. We try to have potatoes, strawberries and all different kind of vegetables. We have cows and a pigg for our own meat. We want help with the garden. Do you love workig with your hands and take care about everything in the garden? Take contact with us and you will hear more!

I stayed for 5 weeks and had a wonderful time. Marcia, Dimitry and Julia are super nice and funny people. The forest is next to the farm and is really beautiful. On the days off you can also take the bus to the nearest town Ekshärad or go for a walk in the forest. They also always made sure that you were involved in the activities (pancake nights, sleigh tours, riding tours). I also learnt a lot of new things (making a fire, driving on ice, western riding,...). I had a really good time there and I already miss it. I hope that I can come back one day. Many thanks to Marcia, Dimitry and Julia.

My time in Sweden was a mixed bag. The area was enchanting, the work immense, and living with the girls in the house wonderful. Unfortunately, the heating wasn't repaired until mid-October. It was sometimes extremely cold in the rooms; after a whole day outside, you could only warm up a the farm with a hot water bottle. I was always working more than 32 hours a week, mostly a 40-hour week. I enjoyed to take care of the animals, the puppies were especially adorable. I had hoped to learn Western riding and be able to ride the horses more often. In fact, that was only possible twice during my stay.

Dear Yara, so sad to hear this afterwords. You never said anything when you were here so we could "solve your problems" . You suddenly said you go home because of your stomach problems. We have respect for everyone who comes and learns at our Farm but we are not gonna say everytime how great you are. We laughed together, had a great time and now suddenly you have this feedback.
We hope you learn from this and be more open the next time so the host have the chance to do something about it.
