Host was friendly and helpful when it matters, sometimes a bit teasing but overall a decent experience. Cats are really cute and area/hostal is lovely. Work was easy to understand the system , worked/learned from other volunteers, whom made this experience unforgettable, had dinners together. Ladies, be cautious with the bar guy (he doesn't work at hostal) hosts are easy to talk to.

I enjoyed meeting and working with such lovely volunteers. The work is easy, the only difficulty was learning about the bike rental especially as i've never driven one. Learned how to work through other volunteers. The place is beautiful and surrounded by adorable cats. The manager could have engaged with us more, and asked questions to get to know us…overall the experience was okay but would have been better if we had a more collaborative experience with the host.

It was a great experience. My first time volunteering in a hostel and I definitely learn so many things. The hours were as mentioned in the description and I never found myself having to work extra. However I do have to say that I didn't finish the time we agreed upon. It 2 weeks but I only stayed for a week. Partly because in the beginning I didnt feel as welcomed as I thought I would. Some of the staff were quite aloof and gave me the impression that my existence there was a mistake or not wanted even. With time I learned that that was merely a trait of their personality.

The volunteer I did was about cooking and I liked being able to see my fellow volunteers appreciate it. It's a very quiet volunteer. You can take advantage of playing sports with the owner. The owner helped me buy the food to cook.

The hostel's receptionist duties are very simple, and there's always someone around to ask questions. It's a very quiet place, nestled in a natural setting, so I would recommend it for those who want to take a break and take the opportunity to walk. If you like sports, you can play volleyball and badminton. Finally, if you can share this volunteering experience with other volunteers, it greatly enriches the experience, and the time spent away from work is more enjoyable and shared.

The room was okay, no fan or locker for bag, and no toilet paper in the bathroom. My first shift was really good, I was trained, and enjoyed it. My work hours were okay the first week, however on my second week I was scheduled for 6 days, and I left on the 7th day I was scheduled in for 'special shift' - I was taken to a store away from town to clean dirty shelves, and treated awfully. I spoke to him and he seemed ok but disappointed I was uncomfortable. No other volunteers were made to go. Why me? I left soon after as he made me feel not welcome at all, and treated me different

I didn't put a review on for her because she only stayed with me for 3 days.

Before El arrived at our hostel, I made sure on WhatsApp that if she only wanted to stay for a week, I could only give her one day off.
As an addition, her communication was not the greatest, so it was difficult to talk and interact with her.

I really enjoyed my time at the hostel! The work was easy and fun, just reception and scooter rental with the 5 hour shifts being respected. There is not a huge amount to do there except hiking but it is a nice place to chill. The other volunteers were really great and completely made my experience.

It was a great time! The work hours were respected, and Mani made sure everyone could enjoy their stay and follow their own schedules. The other volunteers are the ones who teach you how to do things, so sometimes information can get mixed up due to misunderstandings. But its ok, just be open minded and guarantee a open communication with the manager. In general everything was great!

I volunteered for two weeks at this hostel at the reception (check-ins, info, scooter rentals). The tasks are easy and support is always available. Accommodation is included, and we shared dinner each night in a friendly, social atmosphere. The hostel is perfectly located for exploring the beautiful trails nearby. A great place for a peaceful yet social experience surrounded by nature.

Like almost every volunteer, I spent two weeks volunteering at this hostel in Tanah Rata. The work is simple and pretty chill, mostly helping out at the reception with check-ins, giving informations about the village to guests, and do some scooter rentals. It's easy to learn, and there's always someone around to support you if needed. The atmosphere is relaxed and social. We cooked dinner together every night and shared lots of moments with other volunteers and guests. It's also a great place to learn, or improve, your card game skills, there's always a game going on in the common area.
