The Experience

We are looking for volunteers to help with the day to day operations of the hostel. Mostly in the evenings from 8pm-midnight. Volunteers will assist the reception staff with showing the guests to the rooms, helping keep the bar and communal area clean, serving basic drinks from behind the bar, help with answering any questions or concerns the guests might have, and relaying any issues to management.

The hostel is a great place to be. It's a nice environment to practice social skills, gain experience, and make meaningful connections. Peter is a good guy, and you can count on him being fair to you. The staff are great personalities as well. Overall, you're in good hands here :)

I spent a lot of money to come and help, but the host cancelled 3 days after I arrived, with no prior notice. Not only I came to Vietnam to volunteer and was not given the opportunity to do so, but I also only received one week of free accommodation (when I was entitled to 15 nights, one dinner/day, free drinks, free laundry). The reason behind the host's decision was that low season came earlier than expected, so he decided to close the hostel and go on vacation. However, the hostel was at least 50% occupied every night we were there. There was lack of clear communication with all volunteers
