The Experience

Come house sit & look after our lovely dog in late July/early Aug ! We are heading to the South Island and we are looking for a lovely dog lover (or a couple of dog lovers) to pet sit. We have included cleaning in the advert, as we obviously want you to keep the place tidy while you're here, & also clean it before we return. We leave July 25th, but it would be ideal if you can come a day early to get to know our lovely dog.

Grace and Johann are amazing hosts, I felt part of their family and it makes me feel like home. Taking care of Tui and the house have been a pleasure for me! I couldn't hope for a better place as volunteer for my first stay in New Zealand. Thank you for welcoming me into your house and life, thank you for trusting me. Maybe our roads will cross again someday 🙏

I had an awesome time with Grace and Johan. They have a beautiful property, with sheep, chickens and the most adorable dog, Tui. They also have a 2 year old boy who is the cutest thing and so fun to play with. His kid energy is endless and he's so expressive (he loves diggers). My work was simple and easy enough to do with little guidance as they were both busy throughout the week. They provided me with all the food I needed, and I had a studio all to myself to stay in. The place is a 25 minute walk to the bus stop, but from there you can go wherever you want. Thanks for letting me stay!

My husband and I we had a great time! Grace and Johan are very helpful and friendly people. They offered to give us rides to the city and on weekends invited us for BBQs (Best lamb I've ever had). They were always available for questions and trusted us with the worktasks. They provide you a lovely apartment were you have all the privacy you need. They have a wonderful baby and a lovely dog which instantly make you smile. I would totally recommend this volunteering to everyone who wants to have a great experience.

Grace and Johan were outstanding hosts in every regard. They went above and beyond in helping us with our travel related tasks like buying a campervan. We felt welcomed and confortable at any time. The quality of the accommodation is extraordinary as well. In addition to that, there is an absolutely lovely Baby and a beautiful dog. Highly recommended!

I had a wonderful time volunteering with Grace, Johan and the Tiny Human. They were kind and compassionate every step of the way and communicated clearly. I got injured while I was there and they were very flexible and helpful. They catered the work to what I was able to do/what I excel at and that was great! I even came back for another 10 days at the end of my trip. Oh and Grace taught me to surf! I'm nonbinary and they Immediately worked on using my correct pronouns. AND every other Worldpacker who came in the first 5 weeks I stayed was also queer so it is definitely a safe space.
