The Experience

There is always lots to do around the Guesthouse. We are looking for volunteers that will be pro active and not afraid to get their hands dirty. Depending on the season in the garden and fields there will be seeds to plant, vegetables to harvest and weeds to pull up. There will also be general cleaning duties around the Guesthouse. Help with cooking our meals will be really helpful and expected as we cannot always find the time to do it.

Many thanks to Naomi and Chris — they treated us like family. We stayed in a beautiful Japanese countryside home, and I absolutely loved it! Naomi taught us Japanese, how to bake cakes, and even how to sort garbage properly — she's really amazing! I had such a great time here — we wore a kimono, sang songs, and felt truly happy. Even when we went out and came back late, Naomi still came to pick us up, which really touched me. I sincerely wish them all the best.

It was a great experience. Naomi and Chris took us to see the Firefly Festival, pick blueberries, sing karaoke, and told us a lot about Japan. They picked us up at the station at 10 pm on a weekend. Thank them very much and wish them a better future.

Naomi and Chris are a wonderful couple who welcomed us into their home with warmth and laughter. The location of their farm is really beautiful. Our days started at 9 AM after preparing breakfast together around 8. Regarding work, I really appreciated Chris's clear instructions and teaching approach. The tasks varied, including farming, gardening, house duties, and even DIYs! They were thoughtful about adjusting tasks based on the weather. Naomi truly shared her culture with us, making the experience even richer. Note that on days off, you'll need to provide and prepare your own meals.

Naomi and Chris are great! From the beginning, they welcomed us warmly. They are very kind, easygoing, and we shared many laughs. They were flexible with the hours and trusted us with our tasks; creating a nice flow and light atmosphere that I enjoyed. We got to try and learn a variety of tasks in the garden and around the house, depending on the weather. It was nice to discover Japanese dishes and learn more about the culture. The e-bikes on our days off were perfect for exploring. I'm grateful for the experience in Minowa, a small town with a slower pace of life. I would recommend it!
