My experience volunteering was very good. Xavier was very kind and taught me a lot about making sourdough bread. My daily tasks were basically cleaning the kitchen utensils and weighing the ingredients. Lew, Yaya and Manah were also very friendly. The permaculture project is being renewed and I believe that future volunteers will have an even more rewarding experience.

Overall, your main task is to take care of animals, which is quite fun if you love animals. You'll get to interact with rabbits, chickens, turkeys, guinea chickens, and dogs. However, there are a few downsides. The food is not great, and the accommodation is rather old, often becoming dirty quickly due to sharing the space with chickens. Xavier and Lew are kind, but don't expect to form a personal connection with them like you might with other hosts. On your off days, the farm is really nice to explore Chiang Mal.

Thank you Ida for coming. About the food as you have some food restriction our team has been cooking for you changing our usual menu. So we are sorry you didn't apreciate our effort. Regarding the chicken and as I explained we have been making a choice a few years ago to have them living outside and regulating pest eating scorpions, spiders, centipedes, small snakes and all others insects that there is in Thailand.
Finally we regret you didn't mention the good moment we had together with group.

I was able to learn about the bread-making process, connect with the surrounding nature and I met many nice people from the area who worked there as well as the other volunteers from different countries and languages.

I recently volunteered at Xaviers Farm/the farm for 2 weeks. Mostly I took care of the animals, worked in the garden and sometimes in the farm(where we mostly cleaned and weighed ingredients). I liked, that the hours were flexible and we could mostly decide ourselves when to start/take a break. It is based on trust that you work your hours. We were provided 2 meals (mostly rice and vegetables) and for breakfast bread and oats. The accommodation wasn't luxury but totally fine. It is pretty remote and not that easy to get to Chiang Mai. All in all I had a good experience and met nice people!
