The Experience

We are a local family business located in the Camino de Santiago, in León. Very experienced receiving people from all around the world and sharing their stories and adventures. We would love to host a responsible person willing to learn and to help with the daily tasks (cleaning, cooking, check in). We have plenty of nature surrounding us and we love animals here. We are looking forward to hear from you :)

My experience at the hostel was beautiful. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Juan, Eric, Francisca and Emilio made me feel at home from the first day. the peaceful and loving energy here shows how much they believe in the Camino spirit. The work is variable and the time schedule is not too strict, it's important to coordinate between volunteers to make the best out of the working and free hours, but personally I had the best experience with Nivia and Kris on my side. I am so grateful to everyone for sharing with me all the love, knowledge and care that this place is. I'll be back!

It was my second time volunteering at the hostel, because since the first time, it felt like home. The place is a paradise, and much of that has to do with the people you will find there. Evi and Juan are the kindest, friendliest, and most peaceful people you will ever meet in your life. Every guest who passes through there, even for a night, can agree with me because they never want to leave! The tasks are light and enjoyable to do, there's always music around, everything is in order, and it's flexible at the same time. You become part of the family if you're also good vibes and proactive!

I had an amazing time volunteering at the hostel! I helped with reception, housekeeping, and breakfast. Juan, the host, was incredibly generous—he helped me explore nearby sections of El Camino and introduced me to the vibrant, creative community that brings El Camino to life in such a special and wholesome way. The albergue itself is full of history, beauty, and heart, and the team dorm was so comfortable that it truly felt like a second home. Tasks were manageable and naturally varied depending on the number of pilgrims. Overall, a beautiful experience I highly recommend!

I value effective leadership: a positive attitude, skills and knowledge. Prior to my departure, it was noted that an effort was made to accomplish all of the above. Our host/Juan ensured that all of us were healthy, engaged, and clear about our responsibilities.

My experience was full of learning. I got to know so much about the Camino de Santiago by talking with pilgrims and sharing time with Juan and his friends. The tasks are in the morning cleaning, and helping pilgrims in the afternoon at the bar and reception, assisting with dinner, and washing dishes. There's no fixed schedule, so it's very important to coordinate well with the others volunteers to organize the free day and break during the day. If you're looking to learn about the Camino, enjoy nature, and connect deeply with locals, pilgrims, and others volunteers, this experience is for you
