The Experience

We need help to remove/fix damage apple trees. Packaging and putting labels on apple products. Prepare lunch. Clean the house, bathroom and storage rooms. We are looking for a couple or 2 good friends who are interested to explore the beautiful of nature in the surrounding area. And are curious on what is going on in an apple farm life. People who travel alone are also welcome to share and sosialize with other volunteers.

It was an amazing experience, the whole family are lovely people who make you feel very welcome. If you love nature you won't get bored, there is a lot to explore! The tasks are quite easy and they teach you about their apples.

We felt totally at home with Generosa, Jon anders, Arnfinn and Gullborg. The whole family was lovely and the property was beautiful. Think of this more of a retreat than volunteering. Learning about nature and apple juice/jelly/cider production was so neat. Very wholesome experience, would totally recommend. As others have stated, there's no way to leave the farm unless you walk to the near by villages (no amenities) or ask someone for a ride. We stayed pretty close to the farm and loved it, but if you don't like nature you may feel isolated. Overall great experience and we miss them!

We've just finished this incredible experience! It consisted on helping the family in some tasks such as painting, taking care of apple trees, etc. The surroundings are just amazing, placed in the middle of Norwegian fjords, mountains and wild nature. It is far from main cities and poor connections. But not a problem at all if you like nature. The whole family are just so nice people, we felt really comfortable. Thanks to Generosa and Jon anders, wish you the best. And special mention to Gullborg for helping us and being so nice. First time using Worldpackers and it's so worth it ☺️

Attracted by the incredible surroundings it is a piece of paradise around here but I got disappointed by how little that experience immerse you in the local culture. In my opinion this is one of the main goals of volunteering abroad. You live in your own place, outside of lunch (that you cook) and occasional trips there is no much time spent with Generosa and Jon Anders. Note that if you come during holidays you may be asked to look after the kids (should be added to the missions) Still a great experience, amazing surroundings, meeting other travellers, learning interesting things about trees

Nice experience overall:) the family is nice and welcoming, so thank you!! it's a perfect experience to connect with nature, otherwise the connections with the outside world are not existent although sometimes the family is willing to bring you somewhere:) The work is easy and varies often and the hours of work are respected. It was interesting to get some insights about the world of apples and their products. The accommodation as well is comfty. If I would recommend something to improve that would be maybe the organisation of the grocery list.
