The Experience

Kia ora! We’re Matt and Amelie, originally from France, and we live on a 4-hectare lifestyle block with our two young sons and dog in beautiful Taranaki. Our home is located just 10 minutes from Stratford and 40 minutes from New Plymouth by car. As we’re in a rural area, it’s easier if you have your own car to get around and explore!

Matt and Amelie were amazing hosts! This was our first worldpackers experience and we had a really nice time. They're a kind family with the cutest dog ever. The tasks were simple and clear and we felt super comfortable asking for help if we needed it. They were accommodating and flexible with working hours. I would definitely recommend!

Ameli and Matt are super kind. We did some nice work belping around their property, like painting their porch or weeding and watering their garden. They also have the sweetest dog. They're very helpful and accommodating, and suppers spent together were a great end to the day. We also had a great view of the mountain!

I've had an amazing time at the project. The place is nestled in the nature and sorrounded by stunning landscapes. Tasks are clear and working hours are reasonable and flexible. You will have appropriate time to explore the surrounding. Hosts are such a great family, welcoming, nice, supportive and will give you loads of tips to discover Taranaki region. You'll also have the chance to get to know their beautiful kids and lovely dog. Highly recommend this experience to everyone

I have really enjoyed my stay with Amelie, Matt, Prosper, Augustine and Lucas :) They are such a lovely family and made us feeling home since minute one. The place is absolutely stunning, surrounded by nature, with Mount Taranaki always there checking on you. The tasks can vary based on season and projects they need to work on. The working hours are flexible, giving you the opportunity to explore around, which indeed is a must. Matt and Amelie were always willing to help, trying to accommodate our needs as much as possible. I am already missing them all, and wish we decided to stay longer.
