I spent 17 days at the hostel. If you want to decompress get away from the big cities I suggest coming here. Your in the middle of the jungle away from everything but at the same time your a bus ride away from Minca, Palomino and other beach towns. Alba and Lau were great managers always made sure we got our food and when your shifts done they make sure you get off on time. They were also very flexible and can make changes if you wanted a different shift! Also amazing kitchen staff!

The hostel is all you can see in the pictures; it has beautiful nature and a great vibe. Food is amazing and there's enough time to explore beaches, waterfalls and towns. To volunteer here you need to have a nice range of social battery available (you'll always find someone to talk to) and energy to walk around helping at the bar or kitchen. Perfect place to explore the hostel area, work online if you need to and enjoy sleeping in the middle of the jungle 🌴

The hostel is a very beautiful place where you can get away to get in touch with nature. However, there are a few things that need some changes before I would recommend anyone to volunteer here. The food wasn't nutritious enough for the amount of work we were doing for it, and the portions were small. I also think a bit of an attitude change from some of the staff to treat volunteers with more respect is also something that needs work. I did meet amazing people, some being staff, so there is still a good enough vibe. It's a great place that just needs a few improvements! :)

Cute Hostel in the middle of the jungle. A good place to relax and enjoy nature. The work is not too difficult. You work 5 days in a row and then get two off days which allows you to explore the area. It is a social hostel so it was a good place to meet new people from everywhere. During my stay we had some issues with the food but they are working on it

Hi Laura! Thanks for your lovely review, and thank you for your help at our hostel πŸ€—! We followed and implemented your idea and suggestion to let the volunteers choose the breakfast (fruits with pancakes/fruits and bread and eggs/shashuka and bread/fruits, or bread and omelet) and also the vegetarian options on the lunch menu. It was a great idea because everyone was super happy with it :) We hope to see you back one day and happy travels 🌸

The hostel is located right in the trees which is a great experience. The staff are very lovely when you get past the initial barrier. Johan and Angela are usually around or only a message away and super helpful. Work was easy and worked in different areas which was nice.

The hostel is a nice place, really chill but unfortunately the owner was making very weird and creepy comments to the volunteers. I was supposed to spend 4 weeks here but left after 1 week. Overall, the hostel doesn't really do much in the evenings. It's very quiet.

Changes made during my stay that explain my negative experience: 1) Volunteer dorm: much too small, beds get soaked every time it rains - which is almost every night. Reparations were made, hopefully its well done 2) Meal plan: The meat was taken out and no other protein (beans, peas, eggs, etc) were used to replace it. We ate rice with some vegetables, or chickpeas, or 1 egg, but only twice we had more than one at the same time. The meals were completely imbalanced, leading to malnutrition in the long term. I talked to Paul (the owner - problematic) about nutrition, hopefully things change!

The hostel is deeply immersed into nature. I had a great time learning how to make cocktails, but also learning from the people working there. I had the chance to explore a lot during my free time, and I never thought Colombia could be so beautiful. I didn't appreciate the fact that many volunteers preferred to stay by themselves, and not really interact with guests or the other people working there. I would suggest to improve the housing provided to volunteers as it had some problems such as that it would get very wet when it rained hard. Still, thank you so much for having me there!

Thank you Claudio for your experience, despite creating a family for us is one of the most important things... its something that comes from inside of all of us. :D

An amazing first Worldpackers experience! the hostel in nature felt like home, and the location near the hostel and not too far from Palomino & Minca was perfect. Tasks were varied and the team was welcoming, valuing Spanish efforts. However, the volunteer dorm was quite small, and although delicious, food portions could be bigger, so 6 hours of work felt a lot for the provided accommodation. Also, communication regarding work specifics could improve. But overall, if you like being in nature and don't mind putting in some hours while living the jungle life, you'll love it just like I did!

No training nor welcome (sketchy receptionist guy), disorganized on so many levels, volunteering dorm was a nightmare so I ended up paying for a private cabin. For that reason my volunteer work became more an exchange for food (lots of rice and pasta). I can't complain about my work since it was relaxed for that reason. I think they are just learning how to work with artists. Personally I wouldn't recommend it for the weak so be ready if you wanna go there. The environment is kinda hostile, but nature was indeed the best part and I did focus on my DJ practice which was my objective.
