Description
Volunteers contribute $20 per day (per person) to cover expendables for food, maintenance, or financing our programme.

The Experience
Join us in Karangasem Regency, one of the most serene and remote areas of Bali! We need volunteers to teach English and assist locals in farming, making a real difference in the lives of the community. With a focus on improving English skills and supporting sustainable farming practices, youโll help empower locals to create brighter futures.

Volunteering in Bebandem was such an amazing experience. You will see true life in Bali without the tourists. Teaching at the school is amazing! The kids are so friendly. Make sure you plan some activities for them (they love learning through games, songs and competitions!). The farming was a great experience and not hard at all, very enjoyable. Putra is super warm and welcoming and is a great host! I would recommend getting a scooter through Putra so you can explore the area in the afternoons and on the weekend - there are so many cool places to see around there.

My stay here was great! Putra and his family are super kind and welcoming!! We had 3 meals a day (given 7/8am, 1pm, and 7/8pm) and Monday-Friday we would either teach English at an elementary school or work on a local farm for about 1.5-2hours. Easy to plan or wing an English lesson (review numbers, days of the week, months, animals, birthdays, etc). This location is up in the mountains so get familiar with a motorbike or use the guide Putra recommends! Really great locations to visit in your down time (Amed beach, virgin beach, Gates of Heaven, the water palaces, go snorkel, diving, etc).

You bring the hospitality and the joy to the students at the elementary school and even at the high school. You also help the local farmers when they harvest the flowers and chilli. I hope to see you again soon and do more for the future๐

Staying with Putra and family was one of the most fulfilling experience. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed. Putra was always available and made sure everything was comfortable throughout my stay. Also, the home cooked food was amazing. The school and the kids are truly special. The children are always eager to learn English and light up with joy when you teach them through games. Beyond the school, I got the chance to met local villagers, help them pick flowers from their farms, play volleyball and even join in on Karaoke afternoons.

The accomodation is clean, comfortable, and private. Your meals are brought to your porch hot and delicious. Putra and his family are kind, generous, and fun, and they include you in outings and enjoyable downtime. The children are smart and excited to learn, everyone in the village says hello with a smile, and not one person has been unpleasant. The experience is authentic and filled with cultural exchange. I would recommend this project to anyone looking for a true Bali experience that benefits both you and the community!
