The Experience

Join us in regenerating the land and creating a sustainable food system. You'll assist with clearing brambles, pruning trees, and removing invasive species to restore our forest. In addition, you'll help design and maintain our permaculture garden—planting, weeding, mulching, and harvesting. Together, we’ll regenerate the ecosystem, reduce fire risks, and create a thriving, self-sufficient landscape.

My stay at the project was truly amazing. I met many beautiful souls who were willing to teach me about life, permaculture, using power tools, community building and more. I felt very safe, taken care of and I had loads of fun with residents and other volunteers. I couldn't have imagined a better first volunteering experience :)

This has been the most wonderful travel experience I had in the last two years. the project is a beautiful place and Dennis and Luana are amazing people. I felt right at home and like I could show up just the way I am. Nobody expects you to be anything other than yourself. There is a very mature and down to earth energy in the project. I've learnt an incredible amount about permaculture, community lifestyle and everything that comes with it. The tasks are varied and you are motivated to do the things that you like or want to learn more about. There's a lot of space to grow. Truly incredible.

I had a really great volunteering experience at the project. The community feels very welcoming, and Luana and Denis really put effort into making us feel at home. I also enjoyed the work – we were allowed to work independently or together with other volunteers on many different projects, which taught me a lot and kept things interesting. It is a really nice spot to comnect with nature

This was my first volunteer experience and it was truly incredible. Luana and Dennis were understanding, transparent, kind and very hospitable. They were very patient when it came to any learning curves that came with the work and they facilitated a beautiful environment. The balance between work and rest was great. There are many other families, couples and individuals on the property who are kind hearted and beautiful. I loved working and playing with the kids as well as working on the permaculture with Ichi and the other volunteers, I also did some additional projects to be done!

I was really happy to have become a part of the project community for my first volunteering experience ever! I just emigrated to Portugal with many ideas in my head and I didn't know where to start, so I decided to opt for this experience to get to know locals, travellers and expats while learning about Permaculture at the same time. And exactly this is what happened: I really made great friends and learned a lot. Big plus for the communication: They really care about the well-being of everybody and practice an open, nonviolent communication style. Can't wait to come back for visits!
