The Experience

We are looking for help with house renovations, gardening, and animal care in return for comfortable accommodation and good food during an interesting and fun cultural exchange. Over 11 years ago we moved to a large traditional thatched house in Devon with sheep, ducks and chickens. There is some outside work and gardening as well as decorating. You will have plenty of free time to explore our area of natural beauty on bikes, buses or drop off.

Jill and Steve are very kind and hospitable, it was like being at home with my parents, always taken care of and comfortable and fed.Life in a historical thatched roof house makes the experience like something from a story book. The work was rewarding, fun, and inspiring then we would finish the day with some epic adventures on the coast with beautiful views and best of all , very friendly locals. The recommendation was top notch. My favorite part was meeting the locals and being immersed in the couture and eating so much good food and pubs.

Our experience at the home was fantastic! Jill and Steve were amazing hosts. Our accommodations were private and comfortable, we had our own space to unwind and relax. The work was fun! We did outside projects and got to restore a few pond, build a willow fence with a fairy door! We did some hedging and clearing too, it felt great to work outside. Having meals together was a great way to learn more about the area and culture and were delicious! We had a great time and would highly recommend!

Our experience with Jill and Steve was amazing. From the very beginning, they made us feel at home, always attentive and willing to help with anything we needed. They recommended wonderful places to explore in the area, which made our stay even more special. The tasks were well explained and organized, allowing us to work efficiently while also enjoying our time. Both of them were very kind, and the food was delicious. We highly recommend this place without hesitation. Thank you, Jill and Steve, for everything!

My friend Annette and I had the most wonderful experience volunteering at the home. From the very first day, Jill and Steve made us feel right at home. Their kindness and cheerful energy were truly heartwarming. They introduced us to English cuisine Jill's cooking is absolutely delicious! They were always attentive to our needs. We're so grateful for the warmth and hospitality they shared with us. Thank you for making this experience unforgettable!
