The Experience

Volunteers are require to maintain the cleanliness of the house, and feed our house dog. Preferred animals and nature lover. You can join us to kayaking tour and also cycling around the village using our bicycle. Sometimes we have some DIY project that you can help out. If you are creative, we can discuss about work that you can handle. 5 hours of working. You will experienced living out of city and culture of Malaysia.

I stayed at the lodge for 3 weeks and honestly… such a special experience. From day one, it felt more like a home than a “volunteer place.” My daily life there included kayaking with guests through the mangroves (never gets old 😍), helping take care of the house, cleaning, cooking, and looking after the two adorable dogs. The work was fair, well-explained, and balanced — plenty of time to enjoy the peaceful surroundings too.

I highly recommend to host Zuzana. She is knowledgeable, flexible, friendly, love dogs like her own pets. She keep the house clean and cook delicious breakfast for our guests. She have sence of humor, always have great chatting session with her. She is active, joining our kayaking tour and chat with our guests. When I need to go KL for others task, I'm 100% stressfree to have her in the house.

This is an amazing experience for me. I'm so grateful to come here and meet wonderful people like Aivee and Chen. They treated me like a family. They took me to try the most wonderful foods, and meet the nice local people. It's definitely a great immersion into the local culture. The work here is easy and always clearly communicated. Much recommanded experience. I stayed for 3 weeks and main Tasks were taking care of the House, plants, dogs, cleaning, preparing for the kayak Tours and joining them. As well as some other tasks based on what was needed at the time. Everyone is realy Kind and they will Show you a Lot of different food as well as Share there Knowledge about Malaysia, Mangroves, Culture and much more. Be aware that if AiVee is gone you will be alone at the House for some amount of time. So you should be Fine with beeing on your own. Its the best Place for relaxing and watching Wildlife. So enjoy!

The volunteering was an unforgettable experience! The place is truly unique — a the lodge surrounded by nature. The tasks were simple including cleaning, preparing for the kayak tours and tidying up afterwards. I also had the chance to join most of the tours, which was amazing — I learned so much about the mangroves and their importance to the local ecosystem. AiVee was an amazing host — super kind, welcoming, and always happy to share stories about the local culture, land, and people. Highly recommend this place to anyone who loves nature and great company.
